RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 available at MSRP again as Nvidia rolls out first wave of Priority Access invites

Apart from all the issues and delays surrounding the RTX 50 series GPUs, one piece of good news we heard was Nvidia bringing back its Priority Access Program for the RTX 50 series GPUs to tackle price-hiking scalpers. Following that, users are now starting to receive email invites from Nvidia, confirming their selection in the Priority Access Program and a chance to purchase an RTX 50 series GPU.
For those not caught up, this program is only for the US market and is invite-only. It is only accessible to those with an Nvidia account created before January 30, 2025, and who applied by filling out an online form. On top of that, the program is currently only for RTX 5090 and 5080 Founders Edition GPUs. With that out of the way, if you met all these requirements and applied for the Priority Access Program, check your email for an invite from the green team.

The first wave of Priority Access invites rolls out
So far, 18 users on Reddit have confirmed receiving an invite from Nvidia stating, “You’ve Been Selected for Priority Access to Purchase a GeForce RTX 50 Card.” The specific GPU mentioned in the invitation depends on whether you applied for the RTX 5090 or 5080.
Additionally, the invite includes a link to place an order for the RTX 5090 or 5080 Founders Edition on the Nvidia Marketplace. However, be sure to log in with the same Nvidia account you used when registering for the Verified Priority Access program.
The RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 Founders Edition cards retail for $1999 and $999 respectively. At the moment, the Priority Access program looks to be the only way to get them at MSRP directly from Nvidia, as partner card prices have been driven up for a few reasons, lack of stock being one of them. For example, ASUS was selling a water-cooled 5090 for over $3,4000 at launch.
Don’t worry if you didn’t get an invite
According to a moderator of the r/Nvidia subreddit, the invites appear to be given out randomly and are not based on when you signed up. This means that even if you applied as soon as Nvidia announced the program but haven't received an invite yet, there is no need to worry as more invites are on the way.
In fact, during the RTX 40 series VPA program, some users reported receiving their invites two to three weeks after the first wave. Considering this, it seems Nvidia rolls out these invites in waves, so keep checking your email as yours might arrive in the second or third batch. That said, if you meet the requirements but still haven't signed up, hurry up and fill out this online form.
