AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 GRE, originally released in China last year, is a cut-down version of the RX 9070. On June 1, 2026, AMD launched it globally. The card entered the market with a starting price of $549, only $50 less than some 16GB RX 9070 models, which ensured sales immediately fell flat. However, for the first time since its launch, you can get one for under $500.

If you head over to Newegg, you’ll find the Gigabyte Gaming Radeon RX 9070 GRE 12GB listed for $549. However, there’s a discount coupon available that can slash $50 off the card. This generous discount knocks it safely below the RX 9070, and far below AMD’s current flagship model, the RX 9070 XT. You can see how Gigabyte’s line-up compares below.

Gigabyte Gaming Radeon RX 9070 GRE 12GB$549.99 $499.99 with $50 coupon applied

To grab this offer, all you need to do is click on the “Extra discount available. Unlock it here” option, check the “Yes” box, and enter your email address. Once done, you’ll receive a $50 off coupon for the card, which will knock its price down to $499, nicely below its original MSRP.

The Gigabyte RX 9070 GRE boasts 12GB of GDDR6 VRAM, which is 4GB less than the original RX 9070. Aside from that, it has 3,072 shading units, 192 TMUs, and 96 ROPs. While the card operates at a base clock speed of up to 1,600 MHz, it can be boosted up to 2,920 MHz for better performance in demanding tasks like gaming.

The Gigabyte model also comes with some third-party features. First is the Windforce Cooling System, which offers server-grade thermal conductive gel, Hawk fans with alternate spinning, composite copper heat pipes, and a large copper plate. All of these work together to ensure the temperatures stay within safe limits, preventing issues like overheating. The card also features RGB lighting, and you can choose from different color options and lighting effects to match the theme of your overall setup.

That said, the $499 price tag should make the card more appealing to users who have considered buying the RX 9070 GRE. However, if you’re looking for something that offers better performance and more VRAM, you could opt for the RX 9070, which can be scored for as cheap as $599.99 with XFX’s overclocked Swift model, thanks to a discount.
