Back when it launched in September 2024, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 didn’t come with ultrawide support – nor did it have an FOV (field of view) slider. Well, the ultrawide issue was addressed in update 3 several weeks after launch, but we’ve been patiently waiting for an FOV slider ever since.

Well, now the wait is over, as the Space Marine 2 6.0 “Datavault” Update is out and it comes with a ton of new content to tuck into. Along with a new PvP Map, a new enemy, an emotes system, and much more, the game has implemented an FOV slider for PC players as part of its quality-of-life improvements.

Space Marine 2 gets FOV slider on PC

Back when the game’s developers did its first Q&A with the community, it seemed like we’d never be getting an FOV slider in the game, though it was left open to consideration. On the topic of the much-requested setting, here’s what the devs had to say:

“FoV slider is not something we are comfortable with, as it can degrade the visual aspect of the game. And on top of that, it is very complex. Our game is not a first person shooter, the camera that we have is very cinematic and constantly changes position and FoV based on what you are doing. Still, we understand that is a very popular request so we are considering it anyway”.

Well, thankfully that consideration has turned into implementation and the latest patch notes show off how it looks in-game.
