Warhammer 40k: Space Marines 2 doesn’t have ultrawide support – but it’s coming
Warhammer 40k: Space Marines 2 is in early release right now. If you pre-purchased the game, you get to play it 4 days early known to Steam as “advanced access”. There are many users on Reddit complaining that the game has launched without any sort of ultra-wide support. But fear not, it is coming. If you’re looking to pick up this new Warhammer game and need a new GPU, we have just the page for you.
Besides the joining server errors that some have been facing. Users on Reddit have expressed their disappointment in Space Marines 2 for not launching with support for aspect rations other than 16:9. A Reddit post in r/Ultrawidemasterrace by GWP-NU asks for some fix or mod that adds ultrawide support to the game. Currently, applications like Flawless Ultrawide do not have any support for Space Marines 2, though it does support the original game.
“Well I was going to purchase today to play early….but if this is the case then ill wait till updated and play then. sad. No way I would not play on my ultra wide. I didnt pay 800$ to not use it lol” – says PixellsJunk in response to the post, which is a valid point. We think that all games should have ultra-wide support as standard with them being so popular.

Fear not, as a recently released developer roadmap by Saber Interactive states that Ultra-wide support is coming in September for Season 1. There’s no other indication or specification of when in September the patch will take place. So realistically it could be anywhere from a day one patch, to September 30th.

While you might have to wait a month for ultra-wide to be fully supported by the developers, it’s better than waiting for a janky mod to fix what Saber should have implemented in the first place. We’re glad that this highly anticipated game is getting the love it deserves from day one.
