Steam Controller seems ready to launch on its own as official distributor sets product page live
Table of Contents
It looks like we’re getting incredibly close to the release of Valve’s new Steam-branded hardware – or at least, the release of the second-generation Steam Controller. Komodo Station, the official distributor of the Steam Deck and other Valve hardware in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, has now updated its website by setting its Steam Controller page live.
There might still be a chance that the controller launches earlier than the Steam Machine and Steam Frame, considering the only clues we’ve been seeing lately are related to the new gamepad. Earlier this week, an unboxing video for the controller (currently unviewable) was spotted in Steam app data, leading to speculation that the device’s launch is imminent.
Komodo Station sets Steam Controller page live ahead of launch
As revealed by @gabefollower on X, Komodo Station recently set its product page for the Steam Controller live. The leak was attributed to @kuromi_goth, who claims that Valve will be selling the Steam Controller ahead of the other hardware. This is likely due to the ongoing memory and storage shortages that continue to affect the Steam Machine and Steam Frame launch.

It features the same old marketing we’ve already seen. Nonetheless, screenshots of the controller page were quickly snapped, though it seems like the content has since been retracted. All we could find is a short product page that only redirects you to the main Steam hardware page, and the same basic template page already exists for the two other new pieces of hardware, too.
In any case, it’s interesting to note that Komodo Station was a valuable source of information ahead of Valve’s hardware announcement last November. The official partner rebranded its store from the ‘Komodo Steam Deck Store’ to the much more generic ‘Komodo Station’ branding, hinting at more hardware on the way. Sure enough, Valve made its official announcement later that day. If the same happens today, then we could be just a few hours away from a new update from Valve.
