Valve could finally be ready to announce new hardware, as official Steam Deck partner rebrands store
Table of Contents
It’s not often that you get see brand-new Valve hardware, or games for that matter, but the Steam creators could finally be ready announce some new tech. There have been plenty of rumors surrounding an upcoming Valve hardware launch lately. The latest development comes from KOMODO, the “official licensed provider” of the Steam Deck in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea. The store has announced that it is rebranding, implying it is no longer just a store for Valve’s handheld.
KOMODO is dropping the “Steam Deck Store” branding, and it will be known as the “KOMODO Station” from November 13. This could imply that it is simply branching out to other products, perhaps outside of Valve hardware, but the timing seems convenient enough not to be potentially related to recent leaks surrounding Valve.
An official Steam Deck distributor is rebranding
The timing of this announcement from KOMODO has caught our attention. As you can see in screengrab below, the simple rebrand won’t be affecting existing customers, but it’s a delibrate depature from just being a Steam Deck store.

Most recently, we’ve seen a leak render for the upcoming Steam Deck Controller sequel, and rumors surrounding Valve’s next VR headset, codenamed Deckard, have been floating around the web for a while. The latter has already been spotted in SteamVR beta code, and was predicted a release within October or November by a reliable leaker last month. As for the controller, it is said to be “extremely close,” as per tipster Brad Lynch. If we’re lucky, Valve will announce and/or launch both at the same time.
Right now, KOMODO sells the same models as Valve does in the West – the 256GB LCD, and 512GB & 1TB OLED models. It also sells the Steam Deck Docking Station. Esentially, the store is 100% focused on the popular handheld – nothing else. But that seems likely to change, given the rebrand that takes effect tomorrow, on November 13.
