Fourth-generation WOLED technology from LG started to appear in gaming monitors almost a year ago, and now it has made its way into TCL’s latest OLED+ displays. The tech relies on multi-layer panels, which you may otherwise have seen referred to as tandem WOLED. We’re getting two new TCL monitors with incredibly thin designs at 1440p and 4K; the latter features dual-mode.

It has only been a few months since TCL launched the 32X3A (March in China, June/July in Europe and the UK), but an upgrade has already been unveiled in two sizes. The 27-inch 27X3B OLED+ and 32-inch 32X3B OLED+ displays come with the 4th-gen WOLED upgrade, boasting higher brightness and improved reflectivity specs. They’ve already surfaced for online retail in China.

The two monitors have appeared on JD – China’s largest retailer – and Taiwanese publication ITHome has confirmed their launch and talked us through their specs and pricing details. The 27X3B and 32X3B will be priced at 3,699 and 6,499 Chinese Yuan, respectively. There is no word on whether these models will make it to the US, but those translate to around $547 and $990.

Both models feature an OLED+ panel, with the 32-inch TLC 32X3B also offering dual-mode functionality, allowing users to drop the native 4K resolution to 1080p and double the refresh rate from 240Hz to 480Hz. The panel is a direct successor to the 32X3A launched earlier this year; the 32X3A-UK launched in the UK early last month, labeled as the “first OLED+ flagship” on the market.

Alongside a fourth-generation WOLED panel, the ‘X3B’ models are said to offer improved screen optimization and calibration to improve purple/grayish tints and text fringing. The new panel offers full-screen brightness up to 335 nits and professional-grade Delta E < 1 color accuracy. The improved 1.1% reflectivity rating is thanks to a newer low-reflection coating, and the models also come with front-facing speakers from Bang & Olufsen. They may prove to be some of the best OLED monitors of the year.
