TCL shipped more than 30% of the world’s Mini LED TVs last year, the #1 brand worldwide with nearly 4 million units
As a popular budget-oriented brand, TCL is all about great value for money. TCL fits its televisions with in-house panels to help reach an affordable end-product price, eliminating the need for third-party supplier markups. New data shows that the company is the number one manufacturer of Mini LED displays, shipping 3.954 million units in 2025 – 31.1% of global market share.
We’ve seen TCL unveil a wide range of Mini LED displays this year, including new QD-Mini LED monitors in June. Before that, it launched its C-series TVs in the UK, with both the C8L-UK and C7L-UK fitted with SQD-Mini LED backlight technology. Back in April, the company also launched the “world’s first artistic TV with QD-Mini LED” and four new affordable QLED TV series.
TCL says it’s “driving Mini LED innovation” and is ranked #1 worldwide
We tend to see brands like Samsung and LG pushing and marketing their latest OLED panels (more so) each year; TCL continues to promote Mini LED tech. Last week, the company also unveiled a special promotion in the UK largely focused on its SQD or RGB Mini-LED TVs. In a new press release, TCL cites data from Omdia to claim the number one spot in Mini LED shipments.

TCL has been driving Mini LED innovation since 2018, moving from early prototype development to market launch and mass production in 2019. Across product generations, the company has continued to develop a complete display system, including LED density, backlight architecture, physical dimming control, panel technology and image processing.
This long-term investment is supported by global scale. According to Omdia, TCL ranked No. 1 worldwide in Mini LED TV shipments in 2025, shipping 3.954 million units and achieving a 31.1% global shipment share. TCL Mini LED TV shipments grew by 118% year on year during the same period.

As shared in TCL’s press release, IFA and NIQ analysis shows that revenue for TVs above 70 inches “increased by 14% during the first half of 2025”. TCL says “Mini LED technology plays a crucial role” in these larger models as a suitable way to control light, “particularly in night scenes, stadium footage, games, and films with strong contrast”.
TCL continues to grow its Mini LED portfolio, now featuring QD-Mini LED, RGB-Mini LED, and SQD-Mini LED models. Its flagship P8L model is highlighted in particular, featuring Mini LED local-dimming backlight with Quantum Dot color technology, a native 144Hz refresh rate, and built-in Onkyo 2.1 Hi-Hi system. The P8L-UK version is available in 85”, 75”, 65”, and 55” sizes.
A larger screen creates more space for films, sport, and games to make an impact, but it can also make inconsistencies in lighting more visible. A well-designed Mini LED system can scale its backlight control across that larger surface, supporting bright HDR highlights while preserving darker areas and fine image detail.
