The ASUS ROG Ally X is one of the best handheld gaming PCs you can buy today. It runs on Windows, performs well, and supports most modern PC games. It's great for gaming on the go, but sometimes using a keyboard and mouse setup just makes a lot more sense.

Whether you’re navigating menus, playing games, or just typing something, having a proper keyboard can make a world of difference. That's where this smart custom case comes in – it's made to hold both your ROG Ally/X and a small keyboard, all in one compact design.

Custom 3D-printable case for ROG Ally/X

This case was created by Natter_LT, a user on Cults, a popular 3D-printing platform. Unlike regular carrying cases that only store the device and charger, this case goes a step further. It has a dedicated slot for a mini keyboard, turning your ROG Ally/X into a setup that looks and feels like a tiny gaming laptop.

If you’re someone who switches between controller and keyboard controls often, this case makes it easier to carry everything together in one package. It also supports the Steam Deck and Lenovo Legion Go, and support can be “easily added” for other similarly-sized handhelds.

One of the coolest features of the case is the built-in kickstand. You can pull out a piece from the back to make your ROG Ally stand upright on a table. This is perfect for when you want to game with a keyboard and mouse or just watch something hands-free. The case also has precise cutouts for all the ports, so you can charge your device or plug in accessories without removing the handheld from the case.

The best part is that you can make this case yourself if you have access to a 3D printer. Natter_LT has uploaded all the required 3D-printing files to Cults. The instructions are clear and include everything you need to know about materials and setup. The files cost $9.40, which is a fair price considering the thought and detail put into the design. There's also a video on YouTube where the creator shows how it works, so you can get a full idea of what to expect before building it.

So far, the files have been downloaded around 1,200 times, which goes to show that people are absolutely loving it.
