The Intel Core Ultra series launched yesterday, with the flagship Ultra 9 285K carrying a hefty $600+ price tag. In our review of the processor, we found that while its performance is solid, it is nowhere near the FPS offered by the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Plus, to make things even better for Team Red, our team just spotted this Micro Center bundle that makes the AM5 champion an even better choice.

Unlike Intel, AMD plans to support the AM5 platform for the next several years, so this is a really good time to build an AM5 PC, as you can keep on upgrading it later. But of course, given that it has a 7800X3D, we doubt you’ll feel the need to change CPUs anytime soon.

Regardless, one thing that should be mentioned is that this bundle is for in-store pick-up only. We recommend checking out the Micro Center store locator page to find a nearby store.

Micro Center 3-in-1 7800X3D bundle

Ryzen 7 7800X3D, ASUS B650-A ROG Strix Gaming WiFi, and G.Skill Flare X5 series 32GB DDR5 RAM.

What does the Micro Center 3-in-1 bundle offer?

The bundle offers the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, one the best gaming processors currently available, paired with an ASUS B650-E TUF Gaming and G.Skill Flare X5 32GB RAM. Both the motherboard and the DDR5 kit pair well with the processor. You can learn more about these components below.

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D

The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is one of the best gaming CPUs you can buy right now. Its gaming performance is so good that it outperforms the latest-gen flagship CPUs from both Intel (the Core Ultra 9 285K) and AMD (Ryzen 9 9950X). The secret behind the 7800X3D’s exceptional performance is its 96MB of L3 cache.

Not only that but the 8/16 core and threads configuration, paired with a 4.2GHz base and 5GHz boost clock speed, allow the 7800X3D to achieve next-level performance, all while maintaining impressive power efficiency at a low TDP of just 125W. Since the bundle does not include a cooler, we recommend checking out our best coolers for the 7800X3D guide.

Given the 7800X3D’s performance, efficiency, and value for money, our hardware experts gave it a 4.5 out of 5 rating in our review.

Motherboard: ASUS B650-E TUF Gaming

For the motherboard, the bundle offers the ASUS B650-E TUF Gaming. It is a solid bang-for-the-buck motherboard that cuts down on frills like RGB to offer a balanced set of good features, including a strong VRM design and great I/O configuration.

First up, the board has an 8+2 VRM structure, so you’ve plenty of power to keep your 7800X3D stable. Plus, you get 3x M.2 slots and 4x SATA 6Gb/s ports for plenty of storage. One of the M.2 slots also supports PCIe 5.0, so you get blazing-fast speeds. Another feature that I really like about the ASUS B650-E TUF Gaming is its USB port configuration. In total, you’ve 8x ports at the rear and 7x ports at the front.

There are 2x 10Gbps ports (1x Type-C and 1x Type-A) at the back and an impressive 20Gbps port (Type-C) at the front. These are very good specs for the price. For connectivity, the motherboard has Realtek 2.5G ethernet and supports WiFI 6E.

RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 32GB DDR5-6000 CL32

Source: Micro Center

The Flare X5 series from G.Skill may lack RGB aesthetics, but when it comes to delivering top-tier performance, the kit knows how to deliver. While Intel processors offer optimal performance with high-speed DDR5 kits, things are a bit different with AMD. The sweet spot for Ryzen 7000 processors is actually 6000MHz with CL30 to CL32 latency.

That's because the Ryzen 7000 CPUs benefit more from lower latency than higher speeds, which is the opposite of Intel builds. As such, the 6000MHz and CL32 configuration of this G.Skill Flare X5 is pretty much the best value-for-money DDR5 kit you can pair a 7800X3D with.

How much will you save?

If you were to purchase these components individually, you’d be looking to spend around $790. But thanks to Micro Center, you can get them for only $650. That’s a whopping $140 of savings by going with this bundle. On top of that, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D’s pricing has been climbing up, as it was available on Newegg some weeks ago for over $600.

You can also use the $140 you save to get yourself one of the best AIO coolers or a solid power supply for gaming, as the quality of these components is also very important for a gaming PC.
