This overclocked RTX 5070 is below $500 ahead of Christmas, and a few more models are less than MSRP right now
Table of Contents
Nvidia launched its RTX 5070 graphics card for $549 earlier this year, and the Founders Edition model is actually available at the official store (at the time of writing) thanks to some recent restocks. Third-party models tend to be more expensive, but right now, we’ve spotted a bunch of cards for less than MSRP – and one of them is even below $500 at Walmart.
It’s not a retailer that immediately springs to mind when you think PC hardware, but Walmart currently stocks the 5070 for a great price online. However, if you’re looking for some close alternatives, then we’ve spotted a few great deals on Newegg and Amazon, too, all cheaper than the original $549 price tag.
| Retailer | Graphics card | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Walmart | PNY NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 OC | $499.00 |
| Newegg | MSI SHADOW GeForce RTX 5070 | $519.99 |
| Amazon | GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 5070 WINDFORCE OC | $539.99 |
| Newegg | ASUS PRIME GeForce RTX 5070 | $543.00 |
Why you should consider the RTX 5070
While RAM price hikes continue to disrupt the PC building market, it’s nice to see some great GPU deals to lift our spirits during the holiday season. As for the RTX 5070, for less than MSRP, it’s a fantastic choice of mid-range graphics card, ideal for 1440p gaming, and more than enough for high refresh rate 1080p, if that’s all you wish to target. We’ve reviewed a couple of RTX 5070 cards – the MSI Gaming Trio and ASUS TUF models – so we can give you a good idea of the performance (see below).
The card can also push 4K in some titles, especially with help from the latest DLSS 4 upscaling technology. Plus, as an RTX 50 series card, it also has exclusive access to Multi Frame Generation, Nvidia’s most up-to-date frame gen feature, which can AI-generate multiple frames, rather than just one. This helps massively boost your FPS in titles that support the tech.
