Unannounced Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 processor gets listed in high-end Alienware gaming PC during CES 2026
AMD just announced the Ryzen 7 9850X3D during CES 2026, a processor that had already been leaked well before its official reveal. However, many fans were also expecting AMD to unveil a higher-end model at the same time. We’re talking about Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, which had appeared in earlier leaks alongside the 9850X3D. When AMD stayed silent about it, many assumed it had been delayed or canceled. That no longer seems to be the case. AMD also said “stay tuned” when pressed on its absence.
The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 has now appeared inside a prebuilt gaming PC, seemingly confirming that the processor does exist. This comes from Alienware China, which shared a promotional video on its Bilibili account. The video showcases a new AMD-powered Area 51 gaming PC, and while Alienware has now edited the caption (it’s explicitly tagged as edited), it initially mentioned that it’s powered by the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2.

The timing is also interesting. The Area 51 reveal is tied to CES 2026, which raises questions about AMD’s plans. It is possible that the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 was originally meant to be revealed during AMD’s CES keynote but was pulled at the last minute for whatever reason. We should note that there’s an outside chance this is an innocent mistake, given the announcement of a 9850X3D-powered PC as part of Alienware’s CES 2026 lineup.
As for specifications, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 is expected to offer a major upgrade over the existing 9950X3D. Unlike previous models, this processor is rumored to stack 3D V-Cache on both CCDs, making it AMD’s first gaming CPU to do so – the design has been used before in the workstation/server side of operations. This would result in a massive 192MB of L3 cache, far more than what the standard 9950X3D offers.
| Specification | Ryzen 9 9950X3D | Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 (rumored) |
|---|---|---|
| Cores | 16 | 16 |
| Threads | 32 | 32 |
| Boost clock speed | 5.7GHz | 5.6GHz |
| Base clock speed | 4.3GHz | 4.3GHz |
| L3 Cache | 128MB | 192MB |
| TDP | 170W | 200W |
The chip is also rumored to carry a 200W TDP, which is higher than the 170W found on the 9950X3D. It is also expected to offer a boost clock of up to 5.6 GHz. In any case, for now, we don’t know when the processor will be released or what its price will be, but considering that it has appeared in a prebuilt gaming PC, we might get to hear an official announcement from AMD soon.
