Valve’s new limited edition white Steam Deck OLED is already being listed online for well over $1,000 by resellers

Hardware scalpers have already set up shop on marketplaces such as eBay, listing the new white Steam Deck OLED after pre-ordering the device via the Steam store. As Valve notes, the limited-edition handheld is only available in “limited quantities” and it hardly comes as a surprise to people trying to resell it at a sky-high price online.
The white Steam Deck OLED was announced last week, causing a lot of buzz online, whether you’re a collector or just fancied upgrading to the OLED in style. While you could simply customize the OLED yourself with a white shell, the limited model certainly carries the fear-of-missing-out factor and it seems like many people were quick to order one.

White Steam Deck OLED is now out of stock in the UK
As you probably know, resellers like this may be able to make a quick buck while the white OLED is selling out. We noticed it is out of stock in the UK at the very least, but users on Reddit report that it is still in stock in the US, Canada, and Europe – for how long though? We can’t be sure.
Not that we’d recommend paying the extortionate price tag, but you can easily find listings for the popular handheld on eBay such as this one here, going for $1,250 at the time of writing. Considering the recommended US price tag is actually $679 USD – just $30 more than the original Steam Deck OLED, paying nearly double via a reseller should be out of the question.
The limited-edition model launched worldwide on November 18th, so pre-ordered devices are currently going out to all regions that the Deck ships to. Speaking of, Australia is the latest region to get the Steam Deck and that includes the new white model. Lastly, it’s worth noting that it shares the same specs as the regular Steam Deck OLED 1TB model, so there is no performance benefit – it does come with an ” exclusive white carrying case and white microfiber cleaning cloth” though.
