Fans’ wait for the much-anticipated Star Wars Outlaws, a game that claims to be the first open-world game in the Star Wars franchise, is over. The game was released on August 30th, and so far, it has managed to achieve “generally favorable” reviews. We’ve tried out the game for ourselves and were impressed by the visuals, but a new paid mod will let you experience it through a new lens; in other words, virtual reality.
At the moment, Star Wars Outlaws is available to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, GeForce Now, and PC. And now, thanks to VR modder Luke Ross, it can be played on VR headsets as well.

The VR mod can be unlocked with a $10 Patreon membership
Luke Ross, who is best known for creating R.E.A.L. VR mods, published a post announcing the availability of Star Wars Outlaws on Patreon. Before this, Ross made games like GTA 5, Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, and other games available on VR headsets with his mods. As spotted by Flat2VR (and posted on X), the 6DOF VR mod was rolled out yesterday, and it’s best played with a gamepad as conventional VR controllers are not yet supported.
To put it simply, players will need a VR headset that is compatible with PC, the Star Wars Outlaws game, and a Patreon membership with Luke Ross that can cost you $10. Getting this membership will also give members access to other VR mods in the future.
As mentioned, Star Wars Outlaws was released on August 30th, and right after release, players reported issues with crashing and stuttering. We don’t yet know if the VR mod could come with bugs of its own, so we’ll have to wait and see. If you do plan on playing in VR though, then check out our best graphics settings guide for an optimal experience. And in case you missed it, players can get the Star Wars Outlaws for free if they buy Nvidia GPUs or even prebuilt PCs – thanks to Nvidia’s collaboration with the game.
