Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reset my Cox Contour remote?

If your Cox Contour remote is unresponsive, you can try a couple of methods to get it to work, including factory resetting it. First, replace the batteries with a fresh pair and see if that works. If it doesn’t, then you can try to power cycle it. As a last resort, you can reset it, and here’s how: hold down the “Setup” button for three seconds. The LED on the remote should light up from red to green. Then, enter “981” using the number pad, which should complete the process.

After this process, you will have to pair it with the receiver and set it up with other devices again.

Conclusion

Having a universal remote around the house can be very handy. You can control various devices with a single remote, and with the Cox Contour remote, you can just tell it what to do using its Voice Control feature. This makes navigating and searching for apps on the TV easier, and it also streamlines the management of different remotes. That said, you need to have the right remote codes for it to work properly, and as you saw, once you get a hold of those – it’s smooth sailing after that, as it’s pretty straightforward. So, hopefully, your Cox Contour remote is programmed to work with your TV, and you can enjoy your favorite movies and TV shows without a hitch.
