Google is releasing the Pixel 10a earlier than expected this year. The launch date has just passed, with pre-orders now available, and everything lines up with what previous leaks and rumors told us. The A-series is the more budget-friendly option for Pixel fans and comes months after the release of the mainline Pixel 10 series back in August 2025.

As the newest addition to the Pixel line-up, we’ve put together everything you need to know about the Pixel 10a. First off, the new smartphone has launched with the same price tag as Google Pixel 9a and many similar specs – the last-gen model has seen plenty of deals as of late, as much as 30% off, if you’d rather save a little extra cash instead.

Google Pixel 10a release date

Google officially announced the Pixel 10a launch for February 18 – this is when pre-orders went live. Now that customers can place their orders, we can see from online listings that the Pixel 10a will fully release on March 5, just over two weeks after the pre-order launch.

The tech giant usually launches its latest A-series smartphone at Google I/O, which often happens in May. However, this pattern was broken with the 9a last year. I/O 2026 has been announced for May 19-20; Google’s next event will be Google Cloud between April 22 and 24.

Google Pixel 10a specs

We no longer have to deal with previous leaks and rumors; the full list of Pixel 10a specs is official and can be found on the Google Store. One of the most interesting reveals is the new rear camera setup, which is completely flat, ditching the camera bump you’ll find on the mainline Pixel 10 series phones and slight protrusion on the 9a.

Information regarding the Pixel 10a’s specs started to leak online late last year, as Evan Blass revealed several key details from a certificate for use on Verizon’s network. Another leak just ahead of launch from US carrier TracFone gave us another confirmation of the specifications.

Google Pixel 10a price in the US, UK, Canada, Europe

As we mentioned earlier, Pixel 10a pricing isn’t priced differently from the 9a before it. Google starts the price at $499 in the United States for the 128GB model, while the 256GB model bumps the price up to $599. In Europe, this converts to €549 and €649, respectively. How does Pixel 10a compare to the 9a?

Many of the specifications are the same between these two phones, and while we thought it may make sense for the new 10-series model to be upgraded to Google’s latest Tensor G5 chip, matching the rest of the 10 series, this isn’t the case – it sticks to the Tensor G4. The most obvious difference at first glance is that the Pixel 10a comes with a completely flat back design.

Pixel 10a retains the same screen size, memory & storage configurations, and battery capacity as the 9a. The same can be said for the cameras. The Pixel 9a’s 5,100 mAh battery offers more than 30 hours of battery life, as does the 10a. As for differences, Google says the 10a offers 11% higher max brightness, 10% thinner screen bezels, and a newer Gorilla Glass 7i screen, which will offer better protection than the 9a’s Gorilla Glass 3 screen.

When did Google announce the Pixel 10a?

Google didn’t announce the Pixel 10a at any specific event. Google I/O no longer seems to be the date to look forward to every year; last year, Google moved forward the Pixel 9a announcement, and the same happened with the Pixel 10a.

The company announced the Pixel 10a shortly before pre-orders went live on February 18th. For comparison, the 9a was announced on March 19, 2025, so Google has done its budget smartphone reveal even earlier this year.
