Table of Contents
We’re getting close to the Samsung Galaxy S26 series launch, which is expected to feature – much like last year – the base S26 model along with the S26+ (or Plus) and S26 Ultra. It was late last year when speculation for a February release started to surface online, and now that we’re finally here, it’s becoming more likely that the series will be announced and/or launched this month.
Samsung hasn’t officially unveiled the S26 series just yet, though there are plenty of rumors and leaks to delve into online. This includes information regarding the release date, specs, and price of the new 2026 models. The new smartphones are set to rival the already-released iPhone 17 and Google Pixel 10 series, both of which arrived close to 6 months ago.

According to the leak, a pre-order period will follow the initial announcement, and it won’t be until March 11 when the Samsung Galaxy S26 series is fully released to the public. Samsung has already given consumers the chance to net some S26 pre-order bonuses as part of its reservation program for Galaxy Unpacked this February. The S26 release comes just over a month after the Galaxy Z TriFold, which became available in the US on January 30, and is already out of stock on the official Samsung US store.
Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra specs & design
Moving on to the specs, an exclusive leak from Android Headlines provides us with the latest knowledge on the hardware itself, including the flagship Ultra. The publication also sourced a few renders of the new Galaxy S26 series phones – the S26 and S26+ look almost identical, aside from the size. Both have a flat display, flat backplate, and a triple rear camera setup on top of a camera island. The power/lock button is alongside the volume up/down buttons on the right-hand side of the devices.
As for the Ultra, the flagship phone is expected to ship with an S Pen stylus. It will also have a flat display with a centered front-facing camera, with a triple, vertically-aligned camera setup on the back beside an LED flash. This means all three phones will likely wobble when resting face-up on a flat surface, as the camera island protrudes from the chassis.

When is Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026?
Since the next Galaxy Unpacked is when we expect Samsung to announce the S26 series smartphones, it’s the main date to look forward to if you’re interested in the launch. A couple of different reliable sources have claimed the first Galaxy Unpacked of 2026 will take place on February 25. The event is also said to include the Galaxy Buds4 launch.
As for a specific time and location, Billbil-kun of Dealabs – referencing a couple of different sources – says the event will be held in San Francisco, while the start time is slated for 7 PM (French time), which translates to 10 AM local time (PST).
Will you be able to pre order the Samsung S26?
It’s common for Samsung to offer a pre-order period with its Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Leaks so far point towards a relatively lengthy two-part phase, with pre-orders available starting on February 26 (the day after Galaxy Unpacked) and ending on March 4 the following week. Then, Samsung is expected to pivot to a ‘pre-sale period’. The early bird pre-order phase is the more likely of the two to offer the best deals, but pre-sales may offer some bonuses, too.
