Get your hands on one of Intel's 11th gen CPUs
Last Updated on
The Core i7-11700K is part of Intel’s new 11th gen CPU lineup and will bring fresh power to Team Blue PC builds. It aims to provide a big boost in performance over 10th gen products and hopefully give those new Ryzen 5000 Zen 3 processors some good competition.
Intel has unfortunately not been very forgiving with the information about the Intel Core i7-11700K and the 11th gen CPUs as a whole but this article should provide you with as much information as possible at whatever current time we’re in.
The Intel Core i7-11700K is on the upper end in terms of price so you’d expect performance to rival that of its AMD Ryzen counterpart – the Ryzen 7 5800X. While we haven’t received the full specs of the Intel Core i7-11700K from Intel themselves, there’s been a bunch of speculation and leaks that we can go off.
You’re likely to take advantage of 8 cores and 16 threads from the i7-11700K as well as 16 MB cache. We’ve not managed to acquire info around the base clock but what we do know is that the boost clock is likely to be 5 GHz for one core and 4.6 GHz for all cores which is more than respectable.
AMD has pipped Intel to the post in terms of releasing their new 5000 series first but, will you be seeing Intel’s retaliation in the very near future? The answer is most certainly yes.
We have no absolute concrete release date attached to the Intel Core i7-11700K but what we do know is that the whole lineup will be made publicly available in March 2021.
Typically, Intel CPUs are pricier than AMD’s but with the Ryzen range appealing to more and more consumers, we could see a shift in Intel’s approach and lower the prices slightly to recuperate some of their lost custom.
Sadly, at this current time, the price of the Intel Core i7-11700K is constantly fluctuating due to demand and low supply. But, we expect the Intel Core i7-11700K to come in around $350 no matter what retailer you’re looking to purchase yours from.
