The year has just begun. As with every new year, we anticipate a whole new line-up of smartphones to bless our pockets. In particular, we will cover what to expect from the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, including the expected Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra release date.

The Samsung Galaxy Ultra is a device that features that tablet feel, packed into a smartphone setup – much like the discontinued Galaxy Note.

It has a larger touch screen, and a quad rear camera and is unique from the rest of the S-series with the inclusion of the S-pen stylus.

The Ultra model sits at a more premium price point, which is justified by its upgraded features. For example its Quad HD+ display resolution, larger RAM storage, and its superior 5000mAh battery on the S22 Ultra.

When will the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra be released?

The release date for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has not been officially announced by the tech giant yet.

Although, Samsung has announced the date of its next Galaxy Unpacked event. This will take place on February 1st.

This event will be the first, large-scale smartphone launch of 2023. Where we expect to see the unveiling of the Galaxy S23 series, including the S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra alongside a new Galaxy Book.

Rumors are already circulating, suggesting that pre-orders could start from February 1st. Which could lead to an in-store availability date around February 17th. However, until Samsung makes an official announcement we will not know for sure.

No matter when the pre-order date starts, you can currently reserve your pre-order slot on Samsung.com. By doing so you will also be able to claim a $50 credit by pre-ordering one device launched by Samsung or $100 if you pre-order two.

How much will the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra cost?

To find out what to expect in terms of cost, let’s look at past Ultra launch prices.

Release Price
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra$1,399
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra$1,299
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra$1,199
Previous Samsung S-series Ultra launch prices

Just by looking at the table, we would expect to see the upcoming S23 sit around the $1,200 to $1,300 mark.

It is also possible that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra could have a lower price point compared to the Samsung Galaxy S22 – if we consider Samsung’s recent pricing trend.

This would obviously be nice, however, we can’t get our hopes up. There is also a possibility that we might see a price hike this year too.

What colors will the S23 Ultra come in?

Rumor has it that Samsung will be offering a fresh new colorway for the upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra. From leaked images online we expect to see four new colors for the premium model.

More specifically, from leaker SnoopyTech, the new colors will be Cotton Flower, Botanic Green, Misty Lilac, and Phantom Black. It is also highly likely that Samsung will release limited edition colors exclusively from their own store.

Final Thoughts

We are still waiting for Samsung to make an official statement about the upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra. So for now, we can only make predictions.

Despite this, we expect that all will be revealed at Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked launch event set to happen on February 1st – not too long to wait!
