Are you looking to create exceptional art using an AI generator? If that’s a yes, then continue reading as we show you how to use DALL-E 2.

DALL-E 2 is another AI system from the ChatGPT developers, OpenAI. The AI firm released its version of an art generator to the market, back in June 2022. And, like its close cousin, ChatGPT, this AI system can cleverly understand human ideas and respond by creating some pretty remarkable artwork.

This application is named after the loveable animated character WALL-E and, of course, the highly regarded artist Salvador Dali. If you intend to use this impressive application, the following information will help you get started.

So, keep on reading until the end to find out how to access this AI art generator and how to use it.

How do I get started with DALL-E 2?

1

Create an OpenAI account

To use DALL-E 2, you must first create an online account on the OpenAI website. Thankfully, account creation is easy. Just provide them with your email address and contact details as usual, and your account will be ready in a few minutes.

Step

1

Input a text prompt

Once you have completed the sign-up process, head directly to the DALL-E 2 webpage and launch the application.

You’ll be granted 50 free credits to play around with for your first month.

Now, type in any description to guide DALL-E 2 to create your image. For example, you could write – a man holding an umbrella. You have around 400 characters to play with here, so there’s no need to hold back.

Once you are happy with your description, click the “Generate” button.

You can also upload an image to DALL-E 2  to get the model to edit or adapt what you already have. Lacking inspiration? Try the “Surprise Me” button.

Step

2

Select your image

DALL-E will start working on your text command to create an array of realistic images. Instead of one output image, DALL-E will create four that closely resemble your ideas.

You can save whichever image you like by simply clicking the “Download” icon on the artwork. DALL-E, by default, will download a copy in 1024 x 1024 pixel resolution.

Before saving your image you also have the opportunity to make some edits. Select, the image you would like to alter and select the “Edit” button. Here, you will be able to erase parts of the image, extend its size and add a generation frame.

Can you use DALL-E 2?

Yes, you can! Using DALL-E 2 is easy and doesn’t require much time or effort. Similar to ChatGPT, it’s a browser-based AI system.

Final Thoughts

Unlike most tools that require a lot of effort and time to download, OpenAI’s DALL-E 2, suprisingly, is quite easy to use. All you need to do is register for free on their browser-based app, and just dive right in.
