This Samsung 55-inch QLED TV is a steal right now, as it’s currently at its best price ever on Amazon. It’s reduced from $397.99 to just $349.99, and it’s a great TV to go for if you’re sticking to budget, but still want something with excellent picture quality, HDR10+ support, gaming features like Motion Xcelerator, and something that’s not going to completely dominate your space. It’s a TV that does all the basics very well, and is going to be well-suited for everyday usage, watching movies, and gaming with moderately powerful consoles. For under $350, it’s a cracking deal if you ask us.

Who’s this Samsung 55-inch QLED Q7F Series TV for?

This TV is all about getting as much bang-for-your-buck as possible, and for a 55-inch Samsung model from 2025, it does have quite a lot going for it. It has a QLED display with 100% color volume, which basically means it’s capable of producing an extremely wide color range, which is great if you’re after more lifelike picture quality. Since it’s a QLED, it’s backlit, which is unlike an OLED, for instance. This is brilliant if you’re looking for something with a high level of brightness, especially if you’re using this TV in well-lit rooms.

This TV features HDR10+, which can be slightly confusing to understand, so let me quickly break it down. Your standard TV may be able to apply one setting to a whole movie, for example, so you’re getting the same brightness, contrast, and color throughout. HDR10+ TVs can apply these settings, but on a scene-by-scene or frame-by-frame basis, which means you’re getting a much more nuanced viewing experience, which is oftentimes much closer to what the director or showmaker wanted you to see. This is a great thing to have for this price point, and it’s going to make movie nights just that extra bit better.

Now, for some of the gaming features. This TV has a 60Hz refresh rate, which means you’re capped at 4K at 60fps. That’s fine for most high-end consoles, but, as I’ll go into later, it’s not enthusiast-level by any means. That being said, it does have Motion Xcelerator 60Hz, which can make everything look even smoother. For lower-end consoles, like a PS4 slim, this TV would be a good shout, as it’ll both upscale its resolution and make gameplay look smoother, too.

Finally, the processor, which is Samsung’s Q4 AI Processor in this case. It’s more of a basic offering, but it covers everything you’d need and leverages AI to enhance picture and sound quality, alongside gaming performance. This isn’t the type of processor that’s going to compete with the likes of Sony’s Cognitive XR options, but it’s more than enough for everyday viewing, gaming, and more.

Things to consider

Personally, I’d say that if you’re looking to keep costs low, Samsung is a great way to go if you’re looking for excellent picture quality, in particular. But for gaming features, I’d lean more towards Hisense and TCL, as options like this one have higher refresh rates, and even FreeSync Premium, and are still super affordable. These would be better options if you’re planning on hooking up your PS5 or high-end gaming PC to your TV, as they’ll allow for much higher fps at 4K, and much smoother overall gameplay performance.
