This best-selling Samsung mini-LED TV just became even more of a bargain on Amazon, as it’s just dropped to a new record low with a solid 13% discount. It’s now coming in at $566.41, which is frankly outstanding value for a 75-inch mini-LED TV.

So, obviously this TV is great in some areas and more basic in others, to be priced at under $600, so what’s the deal here? Well, it leans more into picture quality than it does flat-out gaming performance, for one. In terms of picture quality, with mini-LED, it’s able to have much more precise control over brightness and contrast than a typical LCD/LED model, essentially allowing for superior HDR presentation. It also features Samsung’s Pure Spectrum color, which is designed to further improve color range and accuracy.

On the gaming front, I had to do some digging on Samsung’s official site to clamp down on its refresh rate, as it’s confusing to say the least, on the Amazon listing. According to the Samsung product listing (which is more expensive right now, don’t worry) it’s 60Hz native. That’s fine for older consoles, or if you’re playing more casually, but not ideal for high-end 4K-ready consoles like the PS5 Pro or powerful gaming PCs.

That being said, this TV does pack some features designed to improve both picture quality and gaming performance. Interestingly, Samsung’s Dual Line Gate (DLG) 120Hz mode can be used to increase the refresh rate up to 120Hz, but with reduced sharpness. Samsung’s Motion Xcelerator can also improve motion smoothness in fast-moving scenes, making it great for watching sports. And there’s also your standard lower native resolution upscaling, which is great if you’re watching 1080p native content on various streaming platforms.

So yeah, swings and roundabouts with this TV, but overall, for the price, it makes a lot of sense for most people, and it’s easy to see why it’s a best seller on Amazon. For a large-screen, immersive experience, with solid HDR performance, and a sprinkling of picture quality, gaming performance, and motion handling buffs, it’s well worth considering while it’s still at its lowest price ever.

ALLM mode and VRR

When you’re using this TV for gaming, it will automatically reduce input lag for a more responsive feel, and with VRR, you’re going to be getting a much smoother experience, with reduced screen tearing and stutter.

HDR10 and HDR 10+ compatibilit

HDR10 is pretty standard and basic, as it’s just a fixed picture setting; however, HDR 10+ is actually notable. Essentially, it means this TV can accept dynamic metadata, so it can adjust its settings scene-by-scene. Why is that good? Well, if you’ve got a bright scene followed by a very dark scene, having a fixed setting may make the former look great, but the latter look lacklustre.

Tizen smart TV

It’s a smooth and polished interface that’s super user-friendly, and it also works very well with Samsung smart home devices, via SmartThings. Think of this TV as a command centre for your smart home, and you’ve got the right idea.

Is this TV right for you?

I’d say if you’re keen on Samsung quality, want something large, and don’t mind going for something with less punchy gaming features, it’s a good way to go for well under $600. I’d suggest checking out TCL and Hisense options, however, as many of these have 144Hz refresh rates and far better gaming performance. They’re also typically more affordable, especially when on sale. Check out our top 75-inch picks below to see what’s currently on sale.
