Paired with the RTX 5070, the performance should be even better, as it is a strong addition to handle anything related to graphics and gaming. This GPU can run any game at 1440p, but since the display of this laptop has a 1920 x 1200 resolution, you can increase the graphics and even enable ray tracing without worrying about the FPS dropping, as you’ll also have DLSS 4 and MFG on your side.
Solid display for gaming and work
The WUXGA resolution means 1920 x 1200, which isn’t exactly 1080p as it has more pixels and is referred to as 1200p. While it is clear the RTX 5070 can do much better than 1200p, this also opens the opportunity to increase every in-game setting to ultra and experience next-level details and graphics. The 144Hz refresh rate is also great for gaming and work, as everything should operate smoothly, and if you want to play at a better resolution, you can always connect it to an external monitor.
Tempest cooling to ensure smooth operation
Cooling is one of the most crucial aspects in gaming laptops, as there is less space and components are cramped together. So, this means that there should be adequate airflow to keep the hardware from overheating. HP came up with Omen Tempest cooling, which increases the number of fan blades and increases the heat pipe coverage so that heat from different areas can be transferred efficiently.
What you should consider before buying this laptop
Overall, this is a decent gaming laptop with plenty of power and great value with this offer, but the main downside is the WUXGA display. The 1200p resolution seems like a low ball given the capabilities of the RTX 5070, and it should’ve been at least 1440p if not 1600p. So, that is something you’ll have to keep in mind as you’ll only be able to play games at this resolution but in work and other aspects, it shouldn’t matter a lot.
