Built for next-level gaming
The Odyssey OLED G8 features a 240Hz refresh rate and an ultra-fast 0.03ms response time to meet the demands of high-speed gaming. 240Hz can display up to 240 frames per second when your graphics card supports it, which gives smoother motion to help you keep an eye on your rivals in first-person shooters. Meanwhile, the rapid pixel response reduces ghosting and smearing during quick scenes, helping to keep things detailed and clear. FreeSync Premium Pro syncs the display refresh to your graphics card’s frame rate, offering a smooth gaming experience that is ideal for esports and competitive players.
DP 2.1 and USB-C (98W)
The Odyssey OLED G8 features DisplayPort 2.1 with UHBR20 support, offering up to 80Gbps of bandwidth for high-demand display signals. This capability is mainly important for using the monitor’s 4K resolution and 240Hz refresh rate when paired with a powerful graphics card. The USB-C port gives added convenience by supplying up to 98W of power and supporting data and video transfer through a single cable. With this, a compatible laptop can be connected to the monitor for display output and charging, often eliminating the need for a separate power adapter.
OLED Safeguard+
The OLED Safeguard+ adds to the monitor panel’s protection from static images and static content such as menu bars and icons that remain on the display over long periods of time, screen artifacts, and burn-in. Dynamic Cooling System with a Pulsating Heat Pipe promotes heat dissipation, and Temperature-based Brightness Settings with Thermal Modulation regulate display brightness based on temperature. Logo and Taskbar Detection reduces panel wear in the areas of static icons on the desktop and taskbar. Screen Saver dims the display when the monitor is not in use to help prevent static image damage.
