The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 G95NC is one of the most premium gaming monitors available, combining a 57-inch curved panel with a 7680×2160 resolution and refresh rates up to 240Hz. Its Quantum Mini-LED backlight, 2,392 local-dimming zones and DisplayHDR 1000 certification provide substantially stronger HDR performance than a conventional edge-lit ultrawide monitor. It requires an exceptionally powerful graphics card, a very large desk and careful connection planning, but no ordinary monitor provides quite the same experience. Pick up this phenomenal display now for $400 off the MSRP.

The 57-inch diagonal measurement and 1000R curvature of this monitor create a broad, immersive viewing area. The active screen measures approximately 54.9 inches across and 15.4 inches vertically, making it comparable to two large 4K monitors without a bezel separating them. Read below for more specification details, or see the foot of this page for alternative monitor deals.

What we like about this Samsung 57-inch Odyssey Neo G9 G95NC monitor

Dual 4K workspace without a central bezel

The 7680 x 2160 desktop offers an enormous amount of usable space. Applications can be arranged as if the user had two 32-inch 4K monitors, but windows and timelines can also extend across the centre without encountering a bezel. This is useful for video-editing timelines, music-production software, large spreadsheets, development environments and financial dashboards. It can also replace a multi-monitor gaming and streaming arrangement, leaving room for the game, chat, monitoring tools and recording software.

Bear in mind that Windows scaling may still be necessary because the monitor has approximately the same pixel density as a conventional 32-inch 4K display. Applications that handle scaling poorly can produce text or interface elements that appear unusually small. Not every game supports a 32:9 aspect ratio correctly. Some titles display black bars, restrict cutscenes to a narrower format or position interface elements inconveniently far apart. Competitive games may deliberately limit ultrawide support to prevent a field-of-view advantage.

Strong Mini-LED HDR performance

The VA panel uses Samsung’s Quantum Matrix Mini-LED backlight with 2,392 local-dimming zones. By independently controlling many small areas of the backlight, it can display brighter highlights alongside darker surrounding content than a conventional globally lit LCD.

VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification indicates meaningful HDR brightness, while Samsung specifies up to 1,000 nits for highlights. Typical SDR brightness is rated at 420cd/m², with a minimum specification of 350cd/m². The panel also supports HDR10+ Gaming and approximately 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space. Its native static contrast ratio is 2,500:1.

Extremely smooth motion capability

The maximum 240Hz refresh rate produces a new frame every 4.17 milliseconds. Samsung also advertises a 1ms grey-to-grey response time, although actual pixel transitions vary according to colour, overdrive setting and refresh rate.

Fast VA panels can still exhibit slower transitions in dark scenes, but the G95NC is considerably more responsive than an ordinary productivity-oriented VA monitor. Its high refresh ceiling is well suited to racing games, flight simulators and visually immersive shooters where the broad field of view adds to the experience.

AMD FreeSync Premium Pro provides adaptive refresh operation for compatible hardware, synchronising the monitor with the graphics card to reduce tearing and stutter. Variable-refresh behaviour with other graphics hardware may work through Adaptive-Sync, but Samsung’s official certification is for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.

Solid connection bandwidth

The monitor offers one DisplayPort 2.1 input and three HDMI 2.1 inputs. Full 7680 x 2160 operation at 240Hz requires a graphics card and connection that provide sufficient bandwidth, normally with Display Stream Compression.

Samsung specifies DisplayPort 2.1 support at UHBR 13.5 or above, or HDMI 2.1 with 12Gbps-per-lane FRL capability, for the complete Dual UHD 240Hz experience. Merely having a connector labelled DisplayPort 2.1 or HDMI 2.1 does not guarantee that a graphics card implements the necessary link rate.

Picture-by-Picture and KVM functionality

Picture-by-Picture mode can display two input sources simultaneously, effectively dividing the screen into separate workspaces. Picture-in-Picture provides a smaller secondary image covering up to part of the main display.

The integrated KVM switch allows connected computers to share a keyboard and mouse through the monitor’s USB hub. This is useful for moving between a personal gaming PC and a work laptop, although the monitor does not provide USB-C video input or USB-C charging.

Two downstream USB 3.0 ports are included, together with the required upstream connection. This is modest compared with the monitor’s size, so users with numerous peripherals may still need a separate hub or dock.

Immersive 1000R curvature

A 1000R curve follows the arc of a circle with a one-metre radius. At an appropriate viewing distance, this helps keep the outer portions of the enormous panel directed toward the user rather than sharply angled away.

The curve is valuable for gaming and single-user productivity, but it is aggressive for applications involving geometric judgement or collaboration with someone sitting to the side. The display also occupies considerable depth even without its stand because of the curved chassis.

The screen surface is matte and Samsung lists UL Glare Free certification. This reduces mirror-like reflections, although strong lighting can still wash out dark content or make the Mini-LED blooming more noticeable.

Who should consider this Samsung Odyssey Neo monitor deal?

The Odyssey Neo G9 G95NC is best suited to high-end simulation enthusiasts, racing-game players and users who want one uninterrupted display in place of two 4K monitors. It is also valuable for video editing, development, financial analysis and other workflows that benefit from an exceptionally wide desktop.

It is a poor match for modest graphics hardware, shallow desks or users who mainly play games without 32:9 support. Competitive players may also prefer a smaller 16:9 display that makes the entire image easier to monitor without head movement.

This monitor delivers a uniquely expansive experience, but the surrounding system and workspace must be designed around it. With a compatible GPU, suitable cabling and sufficient desk space, it provides a combination of resolution, HDR impact and refresh rate that remains extraordinary even among flagship gaming displays.
