Table of Contents
Content creators and streamers have a lot to control when going live or creating a video. If you are one, you know that having access to crucial controls with ease can be the difference between clunky and quality. That’s what the Elgato Stream Deck MK.2 is for. The second-generation device has 15 buttons to control OBS, Twitch, YouTube, Kick, and tons of other commands, and it’s at its lowest since July on Amazon. The current price is $120, and that’s a $30 discount from the regular $150 price.
Why we like the Elgato Stream Deck MK.2 Studio Controller
15 customizable keys
The Stream Deck Studio Controller has 15 customizable LCD keys for actions to control your live stream, video setup, social media, or platforms. The buttons’ one-touch operation means you can instantly post, adjust, tweak, stream, cut, activate your webcam, and activate plenty of other actions. Whatever your priorities, the Stream Deck can be tailored to fit.
Powerful plugins
The Stream Deck’s power doesn’t lie in its buttons, but in the ecosystem as a whole. The Elgato Stream Deck supports plugins for 4KCU, OBS, Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, Discord, Spotify, Philips Hue, and more. And that lends this device a lot of power for almost whatever your needs are as a creator or creative professional.

Hotkey your workflow
One example of how you could use the Stream Deck is, specifically, for music or video production. With 15 keys, hotkey actions can greatly improve your productivity once you have the keys set to optimize your needs. That turns a device often used for streaming into a powerful production tool.
What to consider before you buy
If you’re just starting out in content or live streaming, picking the Elgato Stream Deck is no bad thing. It’s a powerful and useful tool that fits into Elgato’s wider ecosystem – and if you use it to its full potential, it’s a good investment. However, if you have a lower limit on what you can spend on a controller, the more affordable Stream Deck Neo follows the same ethos but with eight buttons.
