We’ve spotted one of LG’s excellent Mini-LED 65-inch TVs going for just $849.99 at Amazon, reduced from $929.99, and we think, for the price, this is a cracking TV that offers an excellent alternative to your typical OLED options. It’s got everything you need to make the most out of whatever you’re watching, from a powerful A8 AI processor, Dolby Vision and Atmos support, a high 120Hz refresh rate with AMD FreeSync for gaming, and a bright and colorful mini-LED display. It’s also an ideal size for most spaces, offering something great for immersion, without dominating your room or completely breaking the bank.
Key features of this LG 65-Inch Class QNED90T Series Mini LED TV
Mini-LED panel
This is a mini-LED TV, which is different from your standard LED offerings in the way that the LEDs are much smaller, and there are more of them, too. This means better brightness, more dimming zones for better contrast, and better color. Notably, mini-LED TVs may be cheaper than OLEDs, but they’re often the preferred choice for well-lit rooms, thanks to their impressive brightness.
a8 AI processor
As with many of the best TVs nowadays, this one features an advanced processor that leverages AI to automatically adjust both audio and visual quality on the fly. This could be anything from adjusting brightness, contrast, color, and more. There’s even a feature called Multi View, which allows you to split the screen and watch two different things at the same time.

Dolby Vision, Filmmaker mode, and Dolby Atmos
Dolby Vision is essentially an advanced HDR technology, and is a must-have for anyone wanting to experience films and content at their best, with accurate color, contrast, and more. Filmmaker mode is also incredible for film buffs who want to view exactly what the Director intended. On top of that, you’ve got Dolby Atmos spatial audio technology, which allows you to create a 3D soundscape by adding height to sound. This differs from your traditional surround sound offerings as it treats sound as individual objects, placing them precisely in 3D space, for a next-level immersive feel.
120Hz refresh rate with AMD FreeSync
This TV features a very high refresh rate of 120Hz, which helps to keep on-screen motion super smooth and allows for gaming at up to 120fps at 4K. You can pair this TV with something like a PS5 or a higher-end 4K-ready gaming PC (like an RTX 5080 or above), and thanks to AMD FreeSync, you should be able to game at high fps without risk of screen tearing or stutter.
Things to consider
While this TV pretty much has it all, there are other options worth exploring if you’re still shortlisting. Hisense and TCL are great places to look for affordable, large TVs, which have very impressive gaming features. These typically include higher refresh rate 144Hz+ panels, AMD FreeSync Premium technology, and advanced gaming menus, too. It’s also worth checking out some of the OLED options from LG, too, especially from the C-series, which are often on sale. These are great TVs, and a lot of work has been done to improve their brightness, too.
