ASUS ROG Strix G16 AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX 5070 Gaming Laptop, 32GB DDR5+2TB SSD
What we like about this ASUS ROG Strix G16 gaming laptop
Excellent graphics card for gaming and creators
With 8GB of VRAM, 4th-gen ray tracing cores, 5th-gen tensor cores, and support for DLSS 4 and MFG, the RTX 5070 is a great way to go for FHD gaming at high to ultra settings, and is also pretty solid at QHD. Not on that, but it can also be used very effectively to accelerate a wide range of creative workflows, and it even has its own dedicated encoders, too.
Beastly CPU is a very strong all-rounder
It packs 16 cores, 32 threads, a boost clock of 5.4GHz, and massive 64MB L3 cache. This is a type of CPU that’s primed for high FPS gaming with low frame latency, which is excellent for competitive gaming, but also very well equipped to handle demanding productivity and creative workflows. Incredibly well-balanced, but an absolute powerhouse that can handle pretty much anything you can throw at it.

The ideal screen for this type of build
This gaming laptop can basically do it all, so it makes sense that its screen reflects that. On the gaming front, you’ve got 300Hz at 0.03ms response time, which allows for super high frame rates with minimal ghosting and motion blur. On the design front, it’s DCI-P3 100%, and its QHD+ resolution will allow for more intricate design work. And on the general front, it’s 500 nits, so it’s going to be very clearly visible even in bright daylight.
Loads of storage and RAM
Having 32GB of DDR5 and a 2TB SSD aligns this nicely with modern gaming requirements and ensures you’ve got enough headroom for heavy multitasking and complex creative projects, too.
Genuinely premium touches
Take your pick! It features Aura Sync lighting on the logo and light bar, a four-zone RGB keyboard, tri-fan cooling technology, and a massive, full-width heatsink, and it even comes with a 280W adapter that can charge its 90Wh battery to 50% in just 30 mins!
Who’s this deal for?
It’s about $500 more than your typical RTX 5070 gaming laptop, but this is something that packs a serious punch across the board for way more than just gaming. If you’re after a premium machine and don’t mind shelling out a fair whack of cash for something that genuinely doesn’t scale back in any noticeable area, this laptop certainly fits the bill.
