If you’re looking for a higher-end RTX 5060 gaming laptop, then this discounted HP Omen 16 is well worth checking out right now. It’s currently down to its 90-day low price on Amazon through PCOnline US, coming in at $1,899.00. As mentioned, this is a higher-end model, so it’s around $500 more than what you’d pay for a typical entry-level RTX 5060 gaming laptop.

Part of what makes this more expensive is that it packs 32GB of DDR5 and a spacious 2TB SSD, which is a big step up from your standard RTX 5060 laptop. The larger SSD gives you more room to work with, either for a large gaming library or split productivity and gaming usage. The extra RAM is going to bolster this laptop’s workstation capabilities, giving you more headroom for multitasking and even improving gaming performance in asset-heavy titles.

The screen is another area where this laptop stands apart from the crowd, but it does so in a very smart way. It’s a 165Hz refresh rate display, with an impressively low 0.03ms response time, but it’s an appropriate 1200p, instead of 1600p. It’s not uncommon to see QHD+/1600p screens paired with RTX 5060 mobile GPUs, but I think it’s a bit overboard, personally. The RTX 5060 packs 8GB of GDDR7 and is really at its best with high refresh rate FHD/FHD+ gaming, rather than QHD/QHD+. It’s an appropriate but still impressive display, and with 100% sRGB color and 400 nits of brightness, games and content should look vibrant and punchy, even in bright daylight, too.

As for the CPU, you’ve got a Ryzen AI 7 350 in this configuration. Its 8 cores and 16 threads make it a solid option for productivity and heavier multitasking, and its 5GHz boost clock speed and 16MB L3 cache are fine for the RTX 5060. It also has a built-in NPU with 50 TOPS, which can come in handy for any real-time AI-related tasks, like background blurring, translation, and so on. Other notable features include a numeric keypad, WIFI 6 connectivity, 4-zone RGB keyboard, and 83WH battery.

What we like about this HP Omen gaming laptop

A strong FHD/FHD+ gaming machine with solid workstation capabilities

For gaming, particularly at higher fps in 1080p/1200p, this is going to be great, but thanks to its hefty amount of RAM, large SSD, and 8-core CPU, it’s also primed for non-gaming usage.

Its screen is bang on the money for this type of laptop

Good viewing angles, bright, vibrant color, with a higher refresh rate and resolution that this laptop can actually make the most of.

Sleek design that sits between a gaming and professional aesthetic

RGB in the right places, and a chassis that looks premium, but not so bombastic that it would look out of place in professional settings. It’s a difficult line to tread, and many of the HP Omen gaming laptops do it incrediidbly well, as is the case here.
