Why we like the TP-Link Tri-Band BE9700
Tri-band connectivity
The TP-Link Tri-Band BE9700 is a more affordable WiFi 7 router. However, unlike other cost-conscious options, it provides three wireless bands: 2.5GHz, 5GHz, and the 6GHz channel other routers can skip. That provides added flexibility if you live in a busier area with lots of radio traffic, and it unlocks a 320Hz channel, doubling the maximum bandwidth WiFi 6E can offer.
Multi-Gigabit wired
For wired connectivity, this router has a good number of options. It provides a 1x 10 Gbps WAN/LAN port, a 1x 2.5 Gbps WAN/LAN port, and 3x 2.5 Gbps LAN ports. So if you need network-attached storage or a wired connection for a PC or console, this router should suit you.

What to consider before you buy
Buying the right router for your needs is important, so ensuring this well-specced router delivers what you want – now and in the future – for the deal price is key. But keep in mind that not all WiFi 7 models are created equal, and not all offer a tri-band setup. And while dual-band can save you money, it can also cause frustration if you get a model without the 6GHz channel you need.
