What we like about this Lenovo Legion LOQ gaming laptop
An excellent, affordable graphics card for FHD gaming, with the latest Blackwell features
The RTX 5050 mobile may be the entry-level option, but it’s a fantastic graphics card for FHD gaming, and bolstered by a whole host of ‘next-gen’ features, such as 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM, 4th-gen ray tracing cores, 5th-gen tensor cores, and MFG. You’re getting a big step up from the RTX 4050 mobile here.
Speedy FHD is everything you need for gaming
At 144Hz, this FHD IPS screen is great for the price and the RTX 5050’s capabilities. It will allow you to game at up to 144fps, and it even features G-Sync to reduce stutter and screen tearing, making it a good shout for competitive gaming on the go, too.
Its processor is a strong all-rounder
You’ve got a great CPU here in the form of the Intel Core i7-13650HX, which packs 14 cores, 20 threads, a boost clock of 4.9GHz, and 24MB Intel Smart Cache. It’s a very good option to go for if you’re looking for high fps gaming with low frame latency, excellent multitasking, and adept handling of demanding creative workflows. All without baking the bank!
DDR5 RAM is a big win at this price
Not all sub-$900 RTX 50-series gaming laptops have DDR5, or 16GB for that matter. This laptop does, and it’s going to drastically improve gaming performance, multitasking, and overall system responsiveness. It also makes it much better at handling creative workflows, especially complex video and photo editing.
It opts for a 1TB SSD, but remains affordable
It’s actually quite rare to see a 1TB SSD on an RTX 50-series laptop under $900, as many keep their costs down by going for a 512MB instead. Yet another win for this deal.
Why it’s a good time to buy
I’ve been searching and writing about RTX 50-series gaming laptops a very long time, and I can say that it’s not too common to find them at under $900 with this amount of DDR5 RAM, and from one of the leading brands in the space, too.
As you can see from the graph above, it’s usually over $1000, and I’d say it’s even worth it at full price given what you’re getting. Now it’s back at its lowest price again on Amazon, and I’d predict it’ll rebound back up to $1,189.99 once the deal ends.
I’d say it’s absolutely worth going for while it’s still on sale.
