MSI Cyborg RTX 5060 gaming laptop has $200 off its list price at Newegg — a solid, budget-friendly pick
Table of Contents
If I were looking for an excellent, budget-friendly gaming laptop, the MSI Cyborg lineup would be one of my first points of call. This range is designed to be cost-effective first and foremost, while still remaining relatively thin and boasting some appealing aesthetics, too. This A15 model currently has a $200 discount, coming in at $1,299.00, which is actually very good for something with an RTX 5060, Ryzen 7 260, 16GB of DDR5, 1TB SSD, and a 144Hz FHD screen.
On the GPU front, the RTX 5060 brings modern Blackwell features to the table, so you’re getting 8GB of faster, higher-bandwidth GDDR7 VRAM, 4th-gen ray tracing cores, and 5th-gen tensor cores, which help power its exclusive MFG upscaling technology. It’s essentially a graphics card that can be used for AAA games in FHD and competitive gaming at decent frame rates on the go. The CPU is also pretty punchy for the price, with 8 cores, 16 threads, a 5.1GHz boost clock, and 16MB L3 cache. It’s appropriate for the RTX 5060’s capabilities and has a decent core count that makes it relatively good for productivity, or even a touch of video editing, too.
MSI Cyborg A15 15.6″ 144hz FHD Gaming Laptop
The display is 144Hz and FHD, which is fine for gaming and, again, in line with the RTX 5060’s capabilities. Where it’s pretty lacklustre is its 45% NTSC color gamut, which in sRGB terms is around 50 to 60%. That would be pretty poor for creative work, but for gaming, it’s not as huge of a deal in the grand scheme of things.
