If you’re looking for an RTX 5080 gaming laptop for a genuinely competitive price, then you’ll want to check out this discounted MSI Vector. It’s currently down to its lowest price in 30 days on Newegg, with a hefty $300 discount, coming in at $2,299.00. There’s a lot to like about this gaming laptop, but its standout features have to be its 175W TGP RTX 5080 graphics card, very high core count and powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, and QHD+, 240Hz refresh rate display with 100% DCI-P3 color. It’s essentially a combination that’s excellent for gaming, multitasking, creative work, and much more, with the only slight caveat being that it has DDR5 is 16GB, not 32GB. That said, for the price, you’re really getting a lot of bang for your buck here. Here’s a closer look at its standout features.
What we like about this MSI Vector RTX 5080 gaming laptop
Exceptional mobile graphics card for gaming and creative work
With 16GB of VRAM, 7,680 CUDA cores, and a 175W TGP, this particular RTX 5080 mobile is a powerful card for running modern games and GPU-accelerated creative applications.
Outstanding all-rounder Intel CPU
The Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX is often found paired with the very best mobile GPUs, and with good reason. It packs 24 cores and 24 threads, enabling it to be effectively used for demanding multitasking and creative workflows, and also has a very high 5.4GHz boost clock speed and a large 36MB L3 cache. Its cache size, in particular, is going to be especially useful if you’re playing competitive games at lower resolutions and high frame rates and want as low-latency gameplay as possible.

Excellent screen for gaming that’s creator friendly, too
QHD+ and 240Hz are ideal for the RTX 5080, without being overkill, and its DCI-P3 color and sharper resolution lend themselves nicely to creative editing work.
Decent amount of RAM and storage to start with
16GB of DDR5 is fine for gaming, as is the case with its 1TB SSD, which can hold a fairly large collection with a bit of spring cleaning from time to time. What’s great is that it helps keep initial costs a little lower, so you can access it if you need more, and purchase accordingly later down the line.
A good sprinkling of premium features
Two Thunderbolt 5 ports, a 24-zone RGB keyboard, WIFI 6E, and a large 90Wh battery are all welcome additions to this laptop, adding both practical and aesthetic touches, without driving the price too high.
Is this deal right for you?
I’d say if you’ve got the coin and want something for QHD+ gaming on the go that can also handle creative tasks and multitasking with ease, then this is well worth your time. I’d say it strikes a very good balance between performance, aesthetics, and scaling back in areas that make the initial purchase more accessible, like its RAM and storage, or opting for an IPS display over an OLED, for instance. Having this as is will be great, but it also has some room for upgrades later on the line. As a desktop PC replacement that’s also portable, I think it makes a lot of sense at this price point.
