Newegg deal cuts price of MSI Crosshair RTX 5060 gaming laptop with powerful Ryzen 9-8940HX processor
Table of Contents
Newegg’s best-selling gaming laptop currently has $150.99 off its list price and is coming in at $1,649.00 right now. Even though I’ve seen this around $50 cheaper in the past, I’d still say it’s a cracking deal considering what this laptop brings to the table. Essentially, this is a much more complete, powerful RTX 5060 laptop than what you’d usually get closer to the $1,300 mark, at least nowadays that is. Instead of your typical 16GB of DDR5, an entry-level CPU with a small core count and L3 cache, and an FHD display, this MSI Crosshair A16 goes all-in instead.
You’ve got a Ryzen 9-8940HX processor, which packs 16 cores and 32 threads, a boost clock speed of 5.3GHz, and a massive 64MB L3 cache. It’s an absolute beast for gaming, heavy multitasking, and handling demanding creative workloads. You’ve also got a substantial 32GB of DDR5, which primes this laptop for modern, demanding AAA gaming requirements and gives you plenty of headroom and bandwidth for other non-gaming tasks. And on the display front, it’s QHD+ and 240Hz, which is arguably a little overkill for the RTX 5060’s capabilities, but welcome nonetheless.
Where does it scale back? Well, it has a quite standard-sized 1TB SSD, but I wouldn’t hold that against it, and it’s arguably not quite as sleek as some of your similarly priced Lenovo Legion or HP Omen options, but that’s about it in all honesty. For excellent gaming performance on the go, Blackwell features, and a machine that’s incredibly well-rounded for the price, this is hard to beat at its current price.

Things to consider
For an RTX 5060 laptop, this is pretty powerful and maybe even a little overkill for what you might be going for. I’d say that if you wanted to save around $300 or so, you could find yourself a perfectly capable RTX 5060 gaming machine for 1080p/1200p on the go. Granted, it won’t be quite as adept as a workstation or have as much RAM, but it’s a good option if you’re looking for something well under $1,500. I’d recommend some of the Acer Nitro lineup if this sounds like more of your thing.
