Table of Contents
The epic Ryzen 9 9950X3D has dropped to its lowest price in 30 days over at Newegg, with just over $50 off and a further $25 off with a limited-time promo code. It also comes with a Cooler Master Elite Liquid 240mm CPU cooler worth $79.99.
This powerhouse processor is essentially the best gaming CPU on the market right now, for those who also want top-tier workstation capabilities, too. So, it’s no surprise that discounts on this model aren’t going to be massive, which means that most Ryzen 9 9950X3D deals are more about getting it at its best price with some added extras, rather than for monumentally less than MSRP.
That’s the kind of deal we have here. It’s down from $699.00 to $639.99, and with the extra $25 off, it drops further to $614.99, which is actually quite significantly under its list price. If you’re building a seriously high-end AM5 build, then these savings certainly add up.

How good is this deal?
I checked Amazon to see if it was cheaper over there, and it looks like while it’s currently discounted to $614.99, too, with a coupon applied at checkout.
According to price tracking history, its lowest price on Amazon was $573.99, but this was for a relatively short-lived period in late April/ early May, and I personally wouldn’t expect it to drop that low for a while, or at least until we hit the next major sales period.
I’d say that both the Newegg and Amazon offers are solid if you’re looking to shave off some extra cost from a high-end build. As mentioned, it’s not a massive saving, but it’s still a smart time to go for it.
What we like about the Ryzen 9 9950X3D
So first off, this CPU is part of the X3D lineup, which is specifically designed with top-tier gaming performance in mind. The big feature here is its unique 3D V-cache technology, which essentially allows for a much larger ‘workbench’ for the CPU to access data from.
One of the big advantages of this is that it dramatically reduces frame latency, so you’re getting way smoother gameplay than if you opted for a non-X3D processor.
The Ryzen 9 9950X3D goes all-in with its L3 cache, coming in at 128MB, which is 32MB more than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. It makes this processor one of the very top, if not the most expensive, options to pair with the best graphics cards.
The 9950X3D also trumps the Ryzen 7 9800X3D with its massive core and thread count and very high 5.7GHz boost clock speed.
In most cases, Intel CPUs tend to have higher core counts than the equivalent Ryzen processors, but they’re not as punchy for gaming performance. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D solves for that by opting for 16 cores and 32 threads, which gives it incredible multitasking and workstation capabilities, alongside S-tier gaming performance.
