Newegg Ryzen 7 7800X3D, B850M-E, and DDR5 bundle offers decent savings for mid-range AM5 gaming builds
Table of Contents
If you’re looking to kick off a solid, mid-range AM5 gaming PC build, then this bundle is well worth checking out on Newegg, and not only saves you $149.99, but also throws in a free CORSAIR CX Series 750W 80 PLUS Bronze PSU worth $89.99. What you’re getting here is a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, an ASUS TUF B850M-E motherboard, and 16GB of Team Group RGB DDR5 RAM for $668.99, which is not too shabby at all.
As usual, I’ll break down each element of this bundle below, but here’s a quick overview of what this bundle is all about. In short, it’s a gaming-first configuration on a future-facing platform that’s going to be well-suited to mid-to-upper-tier graphics cards. Its processor is pretty much the star of the show here and is ideal for high-refresh gaming, especially in QHD. 16GB of DDR5 is fine, but more is always more. I’d say that, based on the free PSU, you’re looking at a punchy RTX 5070 gaming build or similar, but one that has an open upgrade path and years of future support ahead of it, too.

Bundle breakdown
Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor for high refresh rate gaming
With 8 cores, 16 threads, a 5GHz boost clock speed, and a massive 96MB L3 cache, this processor is primed for gaming at very high refresh rates, with low latency. Personally, I think it’s a very strong pick for more cost-effective gaming builds, as it’s come down in price a fair bit thanks to more recent releases, like the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. If you’re into competitive gaming, in particular, this CPU is going to excel at extreme frame rates in FHD.

ASUS TUF Gaming B850M-E motherboard is a strong AM5 foundation to build on
This micro-ATM form-factor mobo features four DDR5 DIMM slots, PCIe 5.0 support for modern GPUs and Gen5 SSDs, WIFI 6E connectivity, Bluetooth 5.2, and 2.5Gb Ethernet. You’ve also got an adequate 12+2+1 VRAM design, and the motherboard also features a comprehensive array of heatsinks to help manage operating temperatures.
16GB Team Group DDR5 RAM is a good starting point
You’ve got 2x8GB DDR5 RAM here, with 6000Mhz speeds, which is a pretty solid starting point for a QHD gaming build. It’s aRGB, which is always a welcome touch, too. In terms of performance, if you’re playing games in primarily FHD and QHD, it’s more than enough, however, I’d recommend going for more if you’re going to be streaming, running background applications or planning on playing more demanding titles at higher settings.
Is this bundle right for you?
This is very much a mid-tier bundle, and while RAM prices are frankly absurd nowadays, it’s still good value considering you’re also getting a free PSU thrown in. I’d say this bundle is ideal for a more cost-effective, AM5 starter gaming build, potentially paired with an RTX 5070 or something similar. For FHD and QHD gaming, I think this configuration makes a lot of sense, and with its micro-ATX form factor, it also lends itself well to smaller builds, too.
