How does the i7-13700KF perform?
The Intel Core i7-13700KF has the same specifications as the 13700K, and since it is based on the LGA 1700 platform, you can get a decent mid-range motherboard to go with it for cheap. That being said, we’ll showcase the output of the 13700K so you can get an idea of how the 13700KF will perform.
Gaming performance
To test the gaming capabilities of the 13700K, we paired it with the RTX 4070 Ti Super and ran Cyberpunk 2077 and Days Gone at 1080p. Running games at lower resolutions puts more stress on the processor. Despite that, we got 325 and 292 FPS, respectively, which is more than what we got with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Since the 13700KF is identical to the 13700K, besides the lack of an iGPU, you should also get the same level of performance depending on which GPU you’re pairing with it.
Synthetic performance
In the Geekbench single- and multi-core tests, the 13700K churned out 2,974 and 19,821 points, respectively. What this means is that this processor has excellent multi-threaded performance and should be able to handle resource-intensive tasks easily, such as video editing, and also provide good 1% lows when gaming at lower resolution. For more details, you can check out our in-depth 13700K review.
Should you get the 13700KF?
If you’re looking for a decent and well-rounded processor for gaming and working, the 13700KF is an excellent option. Not only is it the same as the 13700K in terms of performance, but it also costs less, meaning you’re getting much better value. However, if you’re building a gaming PC, then you’re also likely going to buy a discrete graphics card, which means you aren’t going to use integrated graphics.
In addition, you should be able to pair any of the latest graphics cards, such as the RX 9070 XT or the RTX 5080, with this processor without worrying about bottleneck issues, as it is more than capable of keeping up with them.
