One of the best OLED TVs on the market for the money is $200 cheaper in Amazon deal
Table of Contents
In our opinion, the Samsung S90H remains the best OLED experience for the money if you’re looking for a high-end TV without splashing out on the top-end premium models. This TV combines OLED’s pixel-level contrast with an effective Glare Free screen, powerful image processing and comprehensive gaming support across four HDMI 2.1 inputs. Its NQ4 AI Gen3 processor, 4K/165Hz PC capability and 40W audio system make it a strong all-purpose choice for films, sport and premium gaming. Although it does not support Dolby Vision, every other feature is exactly what you’d want, and the 65-inch version here gives a fantastic big-screen experience. Buy it now and save $200!
Samsung 65-Inch Class OLED S90H
With its stand attached, the 65-inch model measures approximately 56.9 inches wide, 35.3 inches high and 10.4 inches deep. It weighs around 45 pounds with the stand and approximately 42.1 pounds without it. The television supports a 300 x 200mm VESA mounting pattern. Its thin OLED panel suits wall installation, but the lower electronics section is thicker, and cables still require sufficient room behind the set.
The panel has a native refresh rate suited to 120Hz sources, while Motion Xcelerator enables variable-refresh gaming at up to 165Hz from a compatible PC. Current consoles remain limited to 4K at 120Hz, so the maximum 165Hz mode is primarily relevant to suitably equipped gaming computers. What we like about the Samsung 65-inch S90H OLED 4K TV
Self-emissive OLED contrast
OLED technology allows the S90H to switch individual pixels off completely. Dark scenes therefore retain deep blacks without the grey haze or local-dimming halos that can affect conventional LED-backlit televisions.Pixel-level control also helps preserve fine shadow boundaries and bright highlights. HDR films and games benefit from the increased contrast, particularly when viewed in a dark or moderately lit room.
As with every OLED television, prolonged display of fixed logos, scoreboards or desktop elements can create image-retention concerns over time. Samsung incorporates panel-protection systems, but users displaying static content for extended periods should still vary material and leave the protective functions enabled.
Glare Free screen coating
Samsung’s matte Glare Free coating is one of the S90H’s defining features. It disperses direct reflections from windows and lamps, allowing darker content to remain visible without requiring a completely dark room. The treatment involves a tradeoff. In strong ambient light, diffused reflections can spread across more of the panel and slightly lift the apparent black level. Viewers who prefer the crisp, mirror-like presentation of a glossy OLED may favour a different model, but the S90H is more forgiving in everyday living spaces.
Strong HDR brightness
The S90H is substantially brighter than entry-level OLED televisions and can produce impactful specular highlights while retaining OLED’s precise black levels. Independent testing of the series measured HDR brightness approaching 1,500 nits in a small test window, although results can vary by screen size, picture mode, firmware and measurement method.
NQ4 AI Gen3 processing
Samsung’s NQ4 AI Gen3 processor applies scene-based analysis to lower-resolution broadcasts, compressed streams and 4K material. Upscaling can reduce jagged edges and improve perceived texture when the source is reasonably clean. Filmmaker Mode is the preferable starting point for viewers seeking a more restrained cinematic image, while Standard and AI-enhanced modes suit brighter daytime viewing.
G-SYNC and FreeSync Premium Pro
The television is compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. These technologies synchronise the panel’s refresh cycle with the graphics processor’s output, reducing tearing and uneven frame delivery when performance fluctuates. FreeSync Premium Pro also covers HDR-oriented requirements on compatible AMD hardware.
Four HDMI 2.1 connections
All four HDMI inputs support the television’s advanced gaming functionality, allowing several modern consoles, PCs and AV devices to remain connected without constantly changing cables. One connection supports eARC for passing high-quality audio to a compatible soundbar or receiver. This is a practical advantage over televisions that restrict full-bandwidth gaming features to two ports, particularly when one of those ports is shared with eARC. The S90H can accommodate a sound system and multiple current-generation gaming devices simultaneously.
HDR10+ support
The S90H supports HDR10, HLG and Samsung’s dynamic HDR10+ formats, including HDR10+ Gaming. Dynamic metadata allows brightness and tone-mapping instructions to change between scenes when the content supports it. Dolby Vision is not supported. Dolby Vision material will generally fall back to HDR10 when available, but buyers with extensive Dolby Vision libraries or equipment should consider this omission before choosing the Samsung.
AI Motion Enhancer Pro
AI Motion Enhancer Pro analyses movement to reduce blur and improve the legibility of rapidly moving objects and text. It can be helpful for football, motorsport and other broadcasts where camera panning makes fine detail difficult to follow. Motion interpolation should be adjusted carefully for films because stronger settings can introduce artefacts or create an unnaturally smooth appearance. Gaming Mode uses a separate low-latency path and should be enabled for consoles and PCs.
40W 2.1-channel sound
The integrated audio system provides 40W of output through a 2.1-channel arrangement. Dolby Atmos, Object Tracking Sound Lite and Adaptive Sound Pro create a broader and more spatial presentation than basic stereo television speakers. Q-Symphony allows compatible Samsung soundbars to operate alongside the TV’s speakers rather than replacing them completely. The built-in system is capable enough for ordinary programmes, but a dedicated soundbar or surround system will still provide stronger bass, clearer separation and more convincing cinematic scale.
Tizen smart platform
Samsung’s Tizen software provides access to major streaming services, Samsung TV Plus, voice control and the SmartThings ecosystem. AirPlay and Google Cast support make it easier to share compatible content from mobile devices. The interface includes extensive recommendations, account prompts and Samsung services, which can make it feel cluttered. Application availability and AI functions also vary by country, language and service provider.
Samsung Vision AI features
Vision AI incorporates content recommendations, image optimisation, voice interaction and contextual search features. AI Sound Controller Pro can separate dialogue, music and effects, allowing users to emphasise the part of a soundtrack they find difficult to hear. These tools can be convenient but are not required for normal viewing. Some depend on network access, Samsung accounts or cloud-based services and may change through software updates.
SolarCell remote and smart-home control
Samsung’s SolarCell remote can recharge from indoor or outdoor light, reducing reliance on disposable batteries. Bluetooth control means it does not require direct line-of-sight for most functions. SmartThings integration allows compatible lights, cameras, appliances and Matter devices to be monitored or controlled through the television. Its value depends on how extensively the household already uses Samsung or compatible smart-home products.
Who should buy this Samsung OLED TV deal?
The Samsung S90H is best suited to buyers who want OLED contrast but cannot completely control room lighting. Its glare-reducing surface, strong HDR performance and wide viewing angles make it practical for mixed daytime and evening use, while the 65-inch size works well in medium-to-large living rooms. It is especially compelling for gamers with several HDMI 2.1 devices. Four advanced inputs, 4K/120Hz console support, up to 165Hz from a PC, G-SYNC compatibility and FreeSync Premium Pro provide one of the more complete gaming packages available on a television.
It is less suitable for viewers committed to Dolby Vision, people who strongly prefer glossy screens or buyers wanting a minimal smart-TV interface. Dedicated home-cinema users should also budget for external audio despite the above-average integrated speakers.
