If you were thinking of building a gaming PC and were stuck on which processor to get your hands on, we’d recommend you give the Ryzen 5 7600X3D a shot. X3D processors have amazing gaming performance and this offering comes with a hefty 30% price cut that lowered the price to $246. Like any X3D processor, it has a massive L3 cache and is based on the AM5 platform.

So, this should keep the cost low while delivering a significantly better performance than its normal counterpart, the Ryzen 5 7600X. That being said, for productivity it might not be the best option and for the best of both worlds we would recommend the best gaming CPU on the market, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

This is the same 6 core and 12 thread CPU as the 7600X but the 96MB L3 cache gives it better performance in gaming, VR, and other tasks that benefit from a larger on-chip memory. It has a 5GHz boost clock speed and can support 128GB of DDR5 RAM.
