What made the ASUS G814 stand out
Outstanding processing power with the Ryzen 9 9955HX
The ASUS G18 has AMD’s Ryzen 9 9955HX, a high-end 16-core and 32-thread processor designed to thrive in heavy workloads. Gaming is one area where that processing headroom makes a difference, enabling the processor to accommodate complex game logic and physics, as well as the other background tasks the game needs to run smoothly. It also makes a difference in productivity; whether you’re streaming, editing videos, or working with a bunch of programs at once, you’ll still be able to render videos, for instance, while leaving your browser, Photoshop, or whatever else you need open. This is a high-powered CPU that’ll serve well in gaming and work.

Great gaming and AI output with the RTX 5070
The RTX 5070 brings strong graphics performance and AI-enhanced features for this gaming laptop. Its 8GB of GDDR7 memory supports detailed textures and current games, while ray tracing enables more lifelike reflections, shadows, and lighting in compatible titles. DLSS 4 also uses AI-driven upscaling to increase frame rates, allowing supported games to run more smoothly at higher resolutions. In practice, this lets you experience visually impressive gaming without always reducing graphics settings. The GPU also speeds up supported video editing, 3D rendering, and AI creation tools, making it valuable for tasks beyond gaming.
Huge 18″ display is perfect for gaming and creative processes
The 18″ display delivers a QHD+ (2560 x 1600) resolution and a smooth 240Hz refresh rate, so games remain crisp while tracking fast-paced, fluid motion. The high refresh rate is in particular handy in shooters, where having to track quicker-moving targets can be tricky. The display also offers more accurate and vibrant colours, with 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage to make movies, games, photos, and edits pop; plus a higher 16:10 aspect ratio that gives you more vertical space to see more of a video-editing timeline, document, or design interface without having to scroll. With up to 500 nits of brightness plus an anti-glare coating to keep reflections out of your eyes, the display is comfortable to use in brighter environments.
