This Thunderobot Radiant 16 gaming laptop is currently $450 off at Newegg, and has been reduced from $$3,069.00 to $2,619.00. For an RTX 5080 laptop, that’s a great price, and this machine doesn’t exactly skimp on performance and features, either. Key features of this Thunderobot Radiant 16 gaming laptop
RAM and storage
You’ve got 32GB of DDR5 RAM in this build, which is going to greatly enhance everything from playing open-world games to demanding creative applications and workflows. On top of that, there’s a relatively modest-sized 1TB SSD, which can easily hold a handful of large AAA games, while still leaving you enough room for other files.
Display
This laptop features an impressive 300Hz display, coming in at WQXGA resolution, which is great for a few reasons. First off, it’ll allow for very high fps gaming, which the RTX 5080 mobile can do easily at this resolution, and it’s also a good way of keeping costs down, without sacrificing much in the way of overall picture quality and crispness, as 4K screens can be super expensive.

For gamers, you’ve also got MFG, which can come in handy when you’re playing in 4K and want to improve overall smoothness and fps. For creatives, you’ve got Nvidia Broadcast and 9th-gen Nvidia Encoders, which can improve video and streaming quality, export speeds, and much more.
Intel i9-14900HX processor

It packs a whopping 24 cores (8P + 16E) and 32 threads, which enable it to handle everything from complex creative workflows to streaming with ease. It has a very big boost clock speed of 5.8GHz and a large 36MB L3 cache, which allows it push high fps at QHD+ and 4K with no issues. Overall, a workstation-level CPU would be great for professional video editors and creatives, and a powerhouse for gaming.
Things to consider
While RTX 5080 gaming laptops with QHD+ screens make a lot of sense from a cost perspective, if you’ve got the budget and prefer playing games at higher resolutions, checking out some of the 4K laptop alternatives would be wise. Heads up, they’re very expensive, but they can be preferable if you’re working in 4K video editing often, other detailed design work, or simply enjoy slower-paced, lower fps gaming at higher settings.
