The Prime Big Deal Days sales are coming to a close, and the clock is literally ticking on this Acer Nitro V 16S gaming laptop deal. Right now, it’s at its lowest price ever: $1,231.99, 15% off its list price. That’s not bad at all considering what you’re getting, which is an RTX 5060, Ryzen AI 7 350 configuration with 16GB of DDR5 and a 1200p, high-refresh-rate display.

The RTX 5060 brings 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM to the table and the latest Blackwell features. It’s a great graphics card for FHD/FHD+ gaming on the go, and a solid option if you’re working in creative applications that can utilize its performance further. The CPU is a level up from some of the Ryzen 5 options I’ve seen paired with the RTX 5060 mobile, and it packs a high 5GHz boost clock speed, 16MB L3 cache, 8 cores, and 16 threads. It’s actually a very well-balanced CPU for the price, offering both decent multitasking and gaming performance. This is also bolstered by its 16GB of high-speed DDR5, which will come in handy when working on creative projects or playing asset-heavy games.

Elsewhere in this laptop, you’ll find 1TB of storage, which is much more in line with modern game sizes than smaller 512MB options. As mentioned, its screen is FHD+, which offers some extra vertical headroom, and it’s 180Hz, which is more than enough for competitive gaming. Color and brightness can sometimes be toned down with more affordable gaming laptops, but the good news here is that this is 100% sRGB and 400 nits. That’s going to make everything look vibrant and punchy, and be bright enough to be clearly visible in daytime or well-lit environments.

Why we like this Acer Nitro V 16S gaming laptop

A quality configuration for FHD/FHD+ gaming, and productivity

It’s not right at the entry level for an RTX 5060 gaming laptop, thanks to its slightly higher core-count CPU and larger 1TB SSD, but it’s still one of the more affordable options out there. If you want something for gaming on the go that can also handle some creative work and multitasking, this is a good option to consider.

Its screen isn’t over-specced for the RTX 5060

I see a lot of QHD+ RTX 5060 gaming laptops, which I tend to feel are fairly overkill considering the RTX 5060 targets FHD/FHD+. This build is a very smart choice, as you’re not paying for more resolution than you actually need.

Surprisingly slim and streamlined for the price

It’s under 20mm thick, which is not bad for a more affordable gaming laptop, and with a 4-zone RGB keyboard and strong metal chassis, it actually packs a visual punch, too.
