Newegg’s Memorial Day Sale is in full swing, and there are some cracking offers on gaming laptops that are well worth checking out. This ASUS TUG Gaming A16 laptop is now $250 off, and coming in at $1,299.99, which is a great price considering what you’re getting here.

It packs an RTX 5060 mobile, Ryzen 7 260 processor, 16GB of DDR5, and a FHD+ screen with a 165H refresh rate. It’s essentially a gaming laptop that’s going to give you excellent FHD performance on the go, good workstation, content creation, and multitasking capabilities, with ASUS TUF-standard build quality.

The only mild gripe is that it only has a 512GB SSD, but if you don’t mind a bit of clever storage management, I wouldn’t say it’s a deal killer.

What we like about this ASUS TUF Gaming A16 laptop

RTX 5060 for excellent gaming performance on the go

The RTX 5060 mobile features 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM, 4th-gen ray tracing cores, and 5th-gen tensor cores, and is a quality pick if you’re looking for solid FHD gaming performance at high settings and framerates in modern AAA titles, and capable handling of video editing and basic 3D rendering. Notably, it has features like 9th-gen Nvidia Encoders and Nvidia Broadcast, the latter of which is ideal for streamers wanting studio-level quality.

Its Ryzen 7 260 processor is an excellent all-rounder and a cost-effective pick

This processor has a 5.1GHz boost clock speed and relatively large 16MB L3 cache, which makes it decent for AAA titles and high fps competitive gaming. On the content creation and productivity side, its 8 cores and 16 threads are also good, and well-suited to handling demanding workflows and multitasking. Importantly, it’s also very efficient, meaning you won’t be constantly tethered to a socket when using this laptop on the go.

Excellent FHD+ screen for high refresh rate gaming

This display comes in at 165Hz, which is great as it’s not overkill for the RTX 5060’s capabilities, but still gives you loads of headroom for competitive framerates. With FHD+ resolution, you’re also getting more literal headroom, too, with a touch more vertical space than your standard FHD displays.

16GB of DDR5 for improved multitasking and gaming performance

With this amount of RAM, you can expect most games to run very smoothly, especially more asset-heavy AAA games, and making edits to large projects in creative applications should feel much more snappy and responsive.

Should you buy this ASUS TUF Gaming A16 laptop?

For the price, this gaming laptop is great as it ticks off all the most important boxes for a portable gaming machine, and offers some solid content creator capabilities, too. You can find a touch cheaper, but the big win here is that you’re getting something from the ASUS TUF lineup, which is well-regarded for its durability, build quality, and price-to-performance offering.
