Rapid 255Hz ASUS ROG QHD gaming monitor now at its lowest price in 30 days on Amazon
Table of Contents
This excellent ASUS ROG Strix gaming monitor is at its lowest price in 30 days on Amazon, with a solid 18% off its list price, coming in at $229.00. Now, this monitor brings a lot to the table, but essentially, it’s a very speedy QHD display for fast-paced and competitive gaming, which also doubles as a solid professional monitor for creators, too.
This monitor is a Fast IPS LED display, so it’s engineered to have a faster response time for less motion blur and ghosting. It comes in at an impressive 0.3ms, which, when combined with its very high 255Hz (OC) refresh rate, makes for a very capable monitor for high fps gaming. It also features ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync, or ELMB Sync for short. This is backlight strobing technology that works with VRR to dramatically improve visual motion clarity. If you’re looking for a monitor where you can track opponents’ movements easily, then this is a great way to go.
On the picture quality side, being QHD and 27 inches gives you a pretty high pixel density, giving you crisp and clear picture quality without the need for 4K (or a 4K-ready gaming PC, for that matter). Color is especially impressive given its relatively lower accessible price point, coming in at 97% DCI-P3 and 130% sRGB. Its DCI color gamut is excellent if you’re working in video editing and film, while its sRGB color is ideal for those creating anything for the web. It also goes without saying that games are going to look outstanding, too.

As usual, there’s a sprinkling of gaming and quality-of-life features that you may or may not use. AI Shadow Boost is the most appealing, in my opinion, as it exposes darker areas of the map, allowing you to spot opponents who may be lurking in the shadows. It also has USB-C connectivity with 15W PD, which is good for charging, perhaps directly from the monitor, but not a single-cable laptop solution, where you’d need around 60W PD or so in most cases.
Reason you may want to buy this ASUS ROG QHD gaming monitor
Very capable for high framerate gaming
Fast IPS, low response time, a high refresh rate, and ELMB-Sync make this exceptional for competitive gaming and esports.
Surprisingly good for creative work
Some high-refresh gaming monitors are just that, with color and picture quality being an afterthought. That’s not the case here, as this monitor can easily double as a decent professional monitor for video editing, web design, and more.
A more affordable alternative to OLED
In my experience, if you want a 240Hz QD-OLED QHD monitor, you’re looking at around $299.99 at its cheapest, and options are quite limited at this price point. This ASUS monitor may not have the 1M:1 contrast ratio of your typical OLED, but it delivers on performance, brightness, and color very well for way under $300.
