This visually fetching Kindle Essentials Bundle combines Amazon’s compact 2024 Kindle with a matching fabric cover and 9W power adapter, providing everything needed to start reading and keep the device protected. The device itself is the 11th-generation model, which uses a six-inch glare-free E Ink display with a resolution of 300 pixels per inch, giving text and illustrations a sharp, paper-like appearance. Its front light is adjustable and is 25% brighter at its maximum setting than the preceding entry-level Kindle. 16GB of storage and lengthy battery life (rated for up to six weeks!) make it a capable choice for novels and other text-heavy books. Grab it now and save $76 off the MSRP!
Kindle Essentials Bundle – matcha (16GB 2024 Kindle, fabric cover, adapter)
Page turns on this kindle are responsive enough for ordinary reading, although an E Ink device will naturally feel slower than a conventional tablet when navigating menus, entering text or browsing the Kindle Store. That trade-off brings substantial benefits for reading: the display remains visible in direct sunlight, consumes very little power and is considerably less distracting than a multi-purpose tablet. What we like about the Kindle Essentials Bundle including Kindle (2024 release)
Sharp, glare-free E Ink display
The six-inch display provides a 300ppi pixel density, matching the sharpness offered by more expensive monochrome Kindles. Text looks clean at small font sizes, while the glare-free surface remains readable outdoors in conditions that can overwhelm the reflective display of a phone or tablet.

Its built-in front light supports reading in dark rooms without an external lamp. Dark mode can reverse the page to light text on a dark background, which some readers find more comfortable at night. The lighting remains a fixed colour temperature, however, rather than offering the warmer amber adjustment available on the Kindle Paperwhite.
Exceptionally portable design
The Kindle measures approximately 6.2 by 4.3 by 0.32 inches and weighs 5.56 ounces without its cover. It can fit into many jacket pockets and smaller bags, making it well suited to commuting, holidays and short reading sessions away from home. The matching fabric cover adds some weight and thickness, but it also protects the screen while the Kindle is carried in a bag. The compact dimensions make this model more portable than a Kindle Paperwhite, although the Paperwhite’s larger display is more comfortable for readers who prefer bigger text with more words on each page.
The small body is also comfortable for one-handed reading. Conversely, people who increase the font size substantially may need to turn pages more frequently than they would on a larger e-reader.
Long battery life and convenient USB-C charging
A claimed battery life of up to six weeks means the Kindle can generally be taken on a trip without requiring frequent charging. The included 9W adapter cuts the estimated full charging time from approximately four hours over a computer connection to around two hours.
Actual endurance will depend on display brightness, wireless use and audiobook listening. Amazon’s six-week estimate is based on only half an hour of reading per day, so particularly enthusiastic readers should expect to charge it sooner.
Storage for a substantial ebook library
Its 16GB capacity is more than sufficient for an extensive collection of novels and other text-based ebooks. Amazon also provides cloud storage for content purchased through its ecosystem, allowing books to be removed from the device and downloaded again later.
Supported formats include Amazon’s AZW and AZW3 files, TXT, PDF, PRC and unprotected MOBI. EPUB, DOCX, HTML and several image formats can be delivered after conversion through Amazon’s personal-document service.
Useful accessibility options
VoiceView can provide spoken navigation and text-to-speech through a connected Bluetooth audio device. Readers can also change the font, text size, margins and line spacing or invert the display’s black-and-white presentation.
There are no integrated speakers or conventional headphone connection, so Bluetooth headphones or speakers are required for VoiceView and supported audiobook playback.
More sustainable material choices
Amazon says the Kindle uses 75% recycled plastic and 90% recycled magnesium. Its device packaging is also described as fully recyclable, although local recycling requirements and facilities may differ.
Who should consider this Kindle bundle deal?
The Kindle Essentials Bundle is best suited to first-time e-reader buyers who want a ready-to-use package without selecting a cover and charger separately. It is also a strong option for commuters, frequent travellers and established Kindle users who prioritise low weight and one-handed reading.
Readers who mainly consume novels should find the sharp monochrome display and 16GB capacity more than sufficient. Those who regularly read beside water, want warmer evening illumination or prefer a roomier display should consider a Kindle Paperwhite instead.
