RX 9060 8GB, Ryzen 7 9700F gaming PC falls by $200 at Amazon – a good pick for smaller budgets
Table of Contents
If your budget for a new PC is under $1,500, you can still get a gaming rig worth investing in. PC builder iBuyPower’s Slate Gaming PC is a good example, featuring AMD’s RX 9060 8GB and the Ryzen 7 9700F. It’s a combination that speaks to Full HD gaming, which is fine if you’re an Esports fan – or you have no specific intention of playing titles in 1440p. This starter-spec gaming system is $200 off right now, too; down from $1,500 to $1,300 in an Amazon deal that’s piqued our interest.

Why we like this iBuyPower Slate Gaming PC
Fast Full HD gaming
The RX 9060 8GB in this system is not the RX 9060 XT 8GB, which we need to make clear since this graphics card isn’t widely available. In performance, it’s reportedly around 13% slower than the RX 9060 XT 8GB (per Hardware Unboxed), and marginally faster than an RTX 5060. That makes it a good part for a system focusing on fast 1080p gaming, and with some limited potential to deliver smooth 1440p in some titles.
Capable Ryzen 7 processor
Much like its graphics card, the Slate has a familiar but different CPU. The Ryzen 7 9700F is a 9700X without integrated graphics, no boost clock, and it’s not overclockable. Still, it’s an 8-core, 16-thread CPU and a good part for daily computing and Full HD gaming, which is what this system targets. At the deal price, it’s plenty powerful enough for a good return on investment.

A tidy and solidly specced build
If the graphics card and the CPU both pass your specs test, the 16GB of DDR5 and 1TB NVMe PCIe Gen 4 SSD likely will too. The Slate’s 16GB of RAM is enough for a Full HD gaming system to smoothly go about its tasks, and 1TB is a standard storage capacity for entry-level and midrange gaming systems. Additionally, the Slate looks smart and covers off the essentials, including plenty of USB 3.1 ports (six), 1x RJ-45 Ethernet port, and WiFi 5.
What to consider before you buy
The iBuyPower Slate Gaming PC looks to be a decent pick for Full HD and Esports gaming. It could deliver stable 1440p gaming, too, but that is more of a bonus. At the deal price, this PC should serve as a first entry into gaming PCs, or as a speedy 1080p upgrade on older, less capable systems. The big benefit here, of course, is that this is a Socket AM5 build. That means you could theoretically upgrade the CPU and add a better graphics card for greater performance. But for now, Full HD will be key.
