ASUS ROG Strix G18 (2025) Gaming Laptop
What we like about this ASUS ROG Strix G18 gaming laptop
Its RTX 5060 mobile graphics card is a winner for FHD gaming on the go
With Blackwell features like 8GB of faster GDDR7 VRAM, 4th-gen ray tracing cores, and MFG powered by new 5th-gen tensor cores, this graphics card is a quality pick for FHD gaming and even some QHD with a few tweaks to settings. It’s a superior choice from a raw performance perspective to the RTX 5050, too, and can be used quite adeptly for moderately demanding creative workflows, like video editing and graphic design, especially as it features 9th-gen NVIDIA Encoders and tools like NVIDIA Broadcast.
High-end processor makes this laptop a powerhouse for more than just gaming
This laptop features a Ryzen 9 9955HX processor, which is designed for high-end gaming performance and boasts excellent workstation capabilities. It has 16 cores and 32 threads, so you’re getting something that can handle multitasking with ease and various complex workflows in creative applications like Premiere Pro and Blender, for instance. You’re also getting an impressive 5.4Ghz boost clock speed and huge 64 MB L3 cache, making it ideal for fast-paced and competitive gaming with low frame latency.
Large and fast 18-inch screen
You’ve got a 1920 x 1200 18-inch screen here with an impressive 144Hz refresh rate, which is great for gaming, not overkill for the RTX 5060 mobile’s capabilities, and large enough to give you extra room for multiple windows, too. It also features an ACR film that enhances contrast and reduces glare, and with 100% sRGB color, you can expect games to look vibrant and pop, too.
16GB of DDR5 and 2TB of storage make for a well-balanced offering
With this amount of RAM, you’re going to be getting smoother gaming performance, more responsive multitasking, and better handling of larger, complex projects in creative applications, and 2TB of storage will provide ample room for both games and other large files, too.
Should you get this deal now?
As you can see from the price tracking history above, it’s a good time to get this laptop at its lowest price over a month, and from what I’m seeing with other ASUS products, I think that the patterns are suggesting that some of the best discounts are happening right now from the brand. I say this as I’m spotting ASUS laptops and monitors at their best prices ever on Amazon, often dropping in price after extended periods of being at MSRP.
Even though the graph makes the gap look much wider, it’s not too far off its lowest ever price of $1,699.00, either.
