This Samsung 43-inch Class QN70H Series TV is now back at its best price again on Amazon thanks to 17% off with this limited-time deal. It’s coming in at $497.99, which is more expensive than some of your typical smaller TVs, but it does boast superior picture quality and an excellent processor for upscaling, improving motion clarity, and more.

First up, this TV is classed as a Quantum mini-LED, or Neo QLED, which basically just means it’s a mini-LED TV with a Quantum Dot layer. Quantum dot layers improve color range, while mini-LED panels have finer control of brightness and contrast, so it’s a great combination for overall picture quality.

The processor here is Samsung’s NQ4 AI chip, which can leverage AI to analyze pictures and audio in real time and essentially improve them on the fly. For instance, its 4K upscaling capabilities can take lower-resolution content and make it appear closer to 4K. This is great if you’re mainly watching content on streaming platforms, as 4K native content isn’t super common.

As for gaming, it’s fairly basic in all honesty, as its refresh rate is 60Hz native. That’s fine for gaming at up to 60fps, so if you’ve got something a Nintendo Switch or PS4 Pro, it’s a good pairing. For PS5 or higher-end gaming PCs, it’s worth opting for a 120Hz TV instead.

Who is this TV for?

This TV is all about delivering very good picture quality, that’s bright, with excellent color volume, with better than LED/ LCD contrast, but on a smaller scale. Having owned a 43-inch TV for years, I can say that it’s actually a very good size for smaller spaces, bedrooms, or studies, and surprisingly big if you’re sitting quite close to it, too.

Things to consider before buying

I’d say that if you want something that’s more balanced in terms of picture and gaming features, checking out TCL and Hisense options would be a good way to go. These often feature higher native refresh rates and, most of the time, have adaptive sync technology like FreeSync Premium, which helps reduce screen tearing while gaming at high frame rates.
