Superb Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones are well below their list price in this Amazon deal
Table of Contents
The Sony WH-1000XM5 is still a fantastic investment if you’re keen on truly premium headphones. Although the XM6 model was released in 2025, the XM5 precursor still packs features and quality that users love. And if you can find it for a good deal less, even better. Handily, right now an Amazon deal has the Sony WH-1000XM5 down to $248, for a drop of $152 from the list price. The headphone model has been cheaper, but it’s still one of the best prices of this year.
Why we like the Sony WH-1000XM5
Outstanding music and calls
The most important thing is that these headphones sound superb and are engineered for use with Sony’s impressive Integrated Processor V1. Users love the sound profile, and WH-1000XM5’s hands-free calling is excellent too. That’s down to 4 beamforming microphones, precise voice pickup, and advanced audio signal processing.
Excellent ANC
At this price, active noise cancellation (ANC) would be expected for all but studio-specific headphones. The Sony WH-1000XM5 has premium noise cancellation among its headline features, with two processors controlling 8 microphones to ensure a potent effect of blocking out ambient noise.

Good battery life
A 30-hour battery life isn’t the best-ever for wireless headphones, but it’s highly commendable. For commuting, travel, study, or general focus, the WH-1000XM5 can keep going without a full charge. And if they need a quick power boost, a three-minute charge will produce three hours of playback.
What to consider before you buy
The Sony WH-1000XM5 has been more affordable this year, but this deal is still well below the list price. That makes it a very good time to buy if you’ve been considering investing in this specific model. The main thing to bear in mind beyond this is that the newer Sony WH-1000XM6 model is available, but costs $400 at the time of writing. Sadly, the older Sony WH-1000XM4 is largely unavailable. So if you want to spend less, you could opt for the more affordable Sony WH-CH720N.
