What we like about this LG Ultragear evo G9 gaming monitor
5K2K resolution is next-level picture quality
5K2K is essentially like a horizontally extended 4K monitor, so you’re getting UHD quality, but on a much more panoramic display. Not only is that epic for gaming at max settings, but it’s brilliant for productivity, video editing, and more, giving you super crisp picture quality even on a huge scale.

Its 52-inch screen with a 1000R curve is a game-changer for immersion
This monitor is enormous and has a steep curvature designed to wrap around your field of view and give you an ultra-immersive experience. It’s an ideal pairing for a racing rig or flight simulator setup, and for playing some of the best open-world titles available.
A very high refresh rate and low response time make it great for fast-paced gaming
Coming in at 240Hz with a 1ms response time, this monitor is well-equipped to handle games at up to 240fps, and is able to do so with minimal motion blur and ghosting.
FreeSync Premium for even smoother gameplay
This monitor features FreeSync Premium, which is a level up from the base version, and features low framerate compensation, which can keep gameplay super smooth, even when framerates dip below this monitor’s bottom refresh rate.
Excellent color with an impressive VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification
You’ve got 95% DCI-P3 coverage here, which means you can expect accurate and lifelike color, and its DisplayHDR 600 rating is a very good sign that this monitor delivers on excellent contrast and peak brightness, too.
Should you go for this deal?
For pure scale, this gaming monitor delivers the goods for a good price, considering this is from a premium brand and an absolutely massive 5K2K display. As you can see, it’s only recently dropped to its lowest price ever on Amazon, so it’s a good time to go for it while it’s still reduced.
I’d say the best use-case for a monitor like this is when it’s paired with a full-on simulator setup, especially if you’re into sim-racing, where its higher 240Hz refresh rate and FreeSync Premium are going to greatly enhance your experience.
Things to consider
There are more than a few alternatives coming in slightly smaller than this, which you may want to explore, and if you’re willing to opt for something dual QHD resolution, you can get way cheaper, too. I recently covered this Samsung 49-inch monitor that’s on sale at Amazon, and I’d recommend it as a more affordable alternative that still gives you a super wide field of view.
